Ken, thanks for the kind words. I live in Virginia, not NC but Swag is making a mark up and down the east coast. I have been very fortunate to own, raise, train and finish some very nice hounds. Swag is just one of them.
Lots of people try to ride on the shirt tail of those before them. Many people are wannabe breeders and hunters. A real good, once in a lifetime hound can win by treeing coons north to south, east to west. As I am sure you know, a true dog man can recognize that. Despite what many people think, rarely the ability and breeding match each other. You may have a bang up coondog that is just out of some local stuff. On the other hand, you might have a dog that is all grand that can tree coons but usually gets schooled by coondogs. On the rare chance when lightning strikes and the ability and genetics match up is when you take action. That is what these dogs and those before them represent.
Swag is a coondog born from coondogs and is doing his part to reproduce more coondogs. Swag pedigrees represent the foundation of the treeing walker breed.
Remember, coondogs are BORN, not made!
