A cross I have been wanting to make for a while now...

At last it may happen... I just had posted Gypsy forsale earlier in the week and I just recieved a call from where she is at that she is either in or coming in heat... So it just might happen if it isn't to late I will try to get Roofus over there within the next couple of days.. She is about an hour north of here.. We have our fingers crossed... I have guy that has been waiting quite sometime for a pup from this cross in Texas.. So lets see what happens within the next few days...

Roofus will cross well with a Little Bam grand daughter. Roofus' maternal grandsire is a full brother to Little Bam. Little Bam was a great coon dog and I have lots of video of him.

Roofus and Gypsy Cross update

Roofus was put in the breeding pen yesterday with Gypsy where he will remain for the next few days. The down side is I am not gonna be there to witness the breeding... But they are pen up together so I am sure it will happen. He was trying hard when I left there. The guy is to keep an eye on them but we will see what happens...

Junior, I have had mixed results when just leaving them in the pen together. Sometimes, it was the only way I could get things to work.

I am in a situation that is the only way I can attempt to get her bred... I have the city of Oak Hill breathing down my back on running a kennel within the city limits without kennel license an unable to get one within the city limits... We may be moving before to long to where this wont be an issue.. Among other things as well... So we will see what happens.. My dad and Grandfather that is the only way they have bred dogs was by penning them up together... I am not off again until Sunday I may try to go over and remove him form the pen for a few hours and then put him back in and see what happens... I look at this way if it is meant to happen it will and if it wasn't it wont..

I used to have my kennel in town and I was glad when I finally got to the country. But, even in the country, you still have to have good neighbors. I give all my neighbors fish and garden truck in the summer. I breed my dogs to have loud mouths.

You will certainly get some loud mouthed pups if it works. Little Bam was every bit as loud as Roofus and would hunt just as deep. Back in those days, I could follow a hard hunting dog.

I would like to see them...

Everything is frozen around here yesterday morning around 5:30 am when I got up it was 49 degrees with heavy rain between 1-1:30pm yesterday afternoon it started snowing... It nearly snowed an inch an hour... We got 4-3/4 of an inch by 6:30pm Lots of wrecks and power outages. I guess living in the city pays off when it comes to power outages... High here to reach 40 degrees today so I am saying most will melt away.. It hanging on the powerlines and timber bad..

Attention Competition Hunters and Roofus fans

Roofus is scheduled for a breeding just as soon as this female comes in heat.. I really feel confindent this will make a real competitve cross for the nite hunts. And an impact in the English Breed... Both of these hounds are get deep get treed with or without company.. Both like to get split treed. I feel this cross will be more for the competition hunter then the pleasure hunter. I want to Thank "ravenrock" for considering Roofus as his choice of stud... I am extremely excited about this cross I hope to GET'R DONE soon... JR

Roofus X Gypsy pups

At last this cross is being made as I type this ad... However they are in a breeding pen together an hour away from here. So I am not able to verify the mating. I am planing on being there later today to remove Roofus for a few hours and put him back in before I come back home. By doing this I am hoping they with tie soon after puting him back in the pen just to ease my mind...

Anyone wanting a pup out of this cross please get on the list.. I will not be taking any deposits until the pups reach 2 weeks of age..

These pups will $250.00 ea and will be performaced and will only be held with a $50.00 deposit refundable if anything happens on our part. I will also be offering a 1 year guarantee on these pups. That if your pup doesn't suit you for any reason by the age of one year I will buy your pup back for the purchase price only or replace it with another pup from another litter..

I will when I feel that I know she got bred. I am not feeling to confident that she got bred. When I was there yesterday she looked and acted like she was pretty much out of heat... I started to wait before posting on here but I didn't... We will see what happens over the next few weeks...

There is a good amount of Junior and Old Sandy in the backround of the female, Roofus has a lot of the same blood on his mother's side. If she has good traits, the cross should work.
