Last nights hunt

We had another nice hunt last night the ground was frozen with a heavy frost. We treed one right off the bat on the outside. We ended with up two in a hole one on the outside ond four in dens. Blu done very good on track treed good until we would get in there close then start milling. He also was doing some face barking last night as well. I tied him back when I would get there I know he is just a pup but that kinda bothers me.. He did get first tree on one of them. I am still having problems uploading videos. I may halfta take my computer to the shop.

We are using Nite Ch Hard Wood Pepper as our pup trainer she has really done well the last few times out. She is very easy to handle and is good about staying out of trouble. I really feel that Blu could strike and tree his own coon by his actions. I have seen him trail ahead of Pepper but Pepper gets the strike ahead of him. He has had first tree at least three times that I know of. I do understand that it is way to early to tell alot about him but he shows no puppy actions. He don't want to play around etc he goes hunting. I love most of his actions he hunts with his head up and nose in the air however the last night out he slacked a little bit at the tree after we got there. I love his mouth he is unbelievably LOUD we are very proud of him. I may just be able to write myself a check. I have been training me a handler maybe to handle him in some hunts so I can try to finish Roofus. This guy is my 25 year old step son and he is loving it. We have been hunting like were are in a nite hunt using a scorecard. So I may end up writing him a check. So wish us luck and just maybe we can get Roofus finished to grand and with some more time in the woods maybe when can enter Blu in some hunts as well. I don't want to burn Blu out by no means in fact he will probably not get another coon until the end of kill season. We are planning on Coyote hunting this evening. Its off to a beautiful day with temps to reach the low 60's today.

He will probably only be temporary because he just went through a divorce and got laid off from his job so he is staying with us for now. But he has a job interview today so we will see what happens there. I will miss him tho Lol.

It has been fun having him around I am trying to keep his head above water through his troubled time. He loves to hunt so he has been staying after me to go hunting. We had a good hunt yesterday evening we went coyote calling we called up five deer one coyote and one grey fox but we jumped the fox going back to the truck if we had waited a few more minutes we would have bagged it too.
We are taking him and our oldest Grandson to the Monster Truck Jam this Sunday afternoon along with the youngest Grandson as well. Nothing like a little family time along with some successful hunts lol...

Roofus X Gypsy pups

ATTENTION: To all that are wanting a pup out of this cross I honestly feel that Gypsy didn't get bred. She is due somewhere around the mid of this month. But she is showing ZERO signs of being breed. If anything changes I will post. I am very sorry to all that had hopes for a pup from this cross... JR

John Bates here is Blu's 4 generation pedigree. He is more Wilcox/Hardtime bred then Silvertone. He is heavy speck bred and i believe you hit the nail on the head when you said Roofus would cross good on speck. I would like to catch up with you soon on that female so I can put her in the woods while I am being able to hunt some. Just let me know something. It was good talking to you. Thanks, JR

We got a dusting of show yesterday the higher mountians got a couple of inches. Haven't be able to hunt the last few nights business picked up people spending income tax returns. Been working long shifts. May get get back in the woods this weekend. We'll see what happens.

Here is a copy of Ben's sire's full littermate brother. Dan should have aorund 60 pups on the ground. If Iam not mistaking Ben has only been bred once and that was by accident. Do you mind posting her pedigree for me?

Put me down for a female I perfer blue but will take any color.

rufus is a nice hound my husband and a friend trained him for a really good friend of ours his daughter had great pleasure showing rufus he is a coon dog. glad you are haveing good luck with him he will make a great stud dog

Thanks for the kind words you all don't have any nice females for sale do you? I am gonna try hard to put 100 pups on the ground out of ROOFUS it looks like I may end up investing in several well bred females to help me achieve our goal.

I recieved a phone call tonight from the guy who raised Roofus and whos young daughter Maddy that had put the bench show champion title on him Jeremy Wagstaff of Murrayville Illinois. Congradulations Maddy on making Roofus a Champion. Maddy was the person who named Roofus. Jamie went on to tell me that Roofus never gave him any trash trouble and the he treed his first coon at what he believed was 9 or 10 months old. Thanks Jamie for the phone call it was nice to talk to you I will get you that DVD in the mail soon. And I will put you on the next list for a blue female pup on my next litter that I personally have. Thanks and Keep in touch, JR

Junior Female/BFOB: Robert Johnson handled �PR� Johnson�s Cajun Lady, owned by Shawnee or Lora Johnson of Peebles, Ohio.

So this explains his name she named him after her self. Maddy was 8 years old when she was handling Roofus on the bench. Jeremy went on to say that Roofus was aimed to please. He also that Roofus new when Maddy had him on the lead he said that ol' Roofus would walk right by herside. After learning this information the next Roofus pup that I raise will carry Maddy Gees in its name. Heck I might even change Blu's name. When they heard that I had this post on the internet they both got teary eyed. Jeremy sold Roofus because he was working construction and Roofus was just setting in the pen.

Rockie I recieved your PM I have been having conection problem on m y home computer. I opened it on phone but it to crazy to text on my phone. I am little old fashion when it comes to texting. I will try to reply sometime today. Good Luck with every thing you have going on. JR
