A chilling 18 degrees this morning. At 6 am yesterday I swept 4-5 inches of snow of the back porch and when we gat back home @ 4:30 pm they were another 5-6 inches on the porch again. However the snow has been melting down steadily on the ground. Penny is doing fine she is having some pain and won't take her pain meds but she recovering well and thanks everone for their prayers. Thanks for the Pm's as well..

Some may think I am crazy for over loading myself with females lately. I done the same thing several years ago I used to keep 15 big hounds. At one point every bitch I had came in heat within days of each other. And yes I bred everyone of them. And ended up with 45 puppies which gave me 60 hounds at one time. I was feeding one ton of feed every 63 days that is fourty 50lb bags. At the time I was trying to find the line that worked. I was hunting Oney, Wilcox, Hardtime, and Alsome bred hounds. Then by the time I found what was working my older dogs started dying in sequence and everything that I had been working for was gone. It took the zap and desire of hunting out of me and I quit for 5 years. Now I find myself in the same postion. I really truley believe that I have the stud that I need in Roofus. I really feel if his pups are given the chance they will make an impact to the English Breed. Not to go against any calls or Pm's etc. But some of these guys just wear you out wanting to breed and etc then when it comes to it they never show up. Now don't take me wrong I enjoy all conversations and thoughts about it all.. And look forward to many more. I am not a saint either I have guys in NC,OH,TN,VA and WV wanting to go hunting with Roofus and I haven't taken the time out to get that done yet but that will change soon...
So I am rounding up females that I feel will make excellent crosses on Roofus. I sure hope it all works. When breeding you never know how that cross will turn out so you take a 50/50 chance on be successful. For any reason that any hound we raise or own don't suit us we will NOT use it in our breeding program. We want to help bring back the hound traits that have been lost over past few years. Our goal is put 100 pups on the ground out of Roofus while he is still alive. Don't get offended by no means if we refuse to breed your female or sale you a pup. We want to be able to breed the right females and sell his pups to the guys that will give them a fair chance. If those reasons offend anyone we are sorry. Our goal is to protect Roofus and the English breed. Any pup that we sell from our own kennel will be backed with a our 1 year guarantee. Our guarantee is as follows. That if your pup doesn't suit you for any reason by the age of one year I will buy your pup back for the purchase price only or replace it with another pup from another litter the owners choice..

If any pup reaches all mentioned degrees as listed above the total Cash Reward would pay $1350.00 per pup. So Good Luck to all and let the winning begin...
