I hunted in a cast with Gayle Flowers last night in Bullitt county Kentucky, big steep hills are no place for an old guy like me, lol. At 58 I was the youngest member of the cast and I was not complaining one bit when Gayle wanted to take a break Gayle said he is 78 now, and after all the years that I have known him I have to say he is still the same good man that he was the first time I met him. I can not think of a single time that I drew out with Gayle that we had a cross word, or a bad hunt, sometimes we needed more dog power or a few more coons though. Someone asked me once if I ever pleasure hunted with Gayle and I told them that I hadn't. after hunting with him again last night I realized that I was wrong. Win, lose or draw, it is always a pleasure to hunt with Gayle. Someday Gayle will stop hunting and leave his legacy for the next generations, but for me, I hope to keep drawing out with him for many years to come. Gayle won the Nt ch part of the hunt last night and finished his dog to Grand Nite, he said the dog he finished had 55 years of his breeding behind it. How many can say that ? He is the past, and present rolled into one package, let's hope the future holds up as well as he has.
