Thanks to everyone hunting a turkey pup. I'm receiving good reports every few days on their progress. So far the turkey x queen cross has created a lot of buzz. For 6 months of age they're doing exceptionally well. Congratulations to Jim Kumberg on finishing his amber female to Gr Nt Ch last night. My Ruby female is out of Turkey x Amber and she herself may be a Gr Nt Ch in the future.

With coon season just around the corner I have decided to let go of one of my young turkey dogs so I can dedicate all my time on the other. I have a 6 month old male that's bred the very best, he is beautiful, dark dark red, good mouth, leads, loads, comes when called but completely green to coonhunting due to his young age. He will only go to a competition hunters home and will not be very expensive to the right hands. I'm more interested in the pups success than I am about getting paid a bunch of money. Just wanted to drop a picture of my new prospect on Turkey Nation. This is my winter project out of Turkey and NtCh Shadow. His name is Rocko.



Between him and Georgia Chrome, I will be busy but I love seeing the young dogs turn it on. Rocko is dark red, just a little bit of white, big ol' chuckle head and a high tenor bawl. He is an athlete and I am glad to be messing with him.

Thanks Adam. There's a very nice male out of Turkey in NC. I'm not sure exactly where but Matt Roberts owns him. I'm pretty sure he'd show him tree coons some time

Last night I took Turkey and Ruby to hunt with my B&T buddy John Davis. John has a real treedog that he calls battie that should do some winning this summer. Turkey and Ruby looked pretty good as well. We treed 7 singles, a double and a few other oak trees that could have been hiding a coon. Ruby is coming into this season perfectly.

A couple of Turkey pups got in on some fur last night. Smoke and I took his new dog Nt.Ch. Bad News Brown, his mother Abby and Little Georgia Chrome for a spin.

Put up a couple of coons before they shut down. Georgia got some really good face time with one that walked down the tree and decided to fight. She lost her mind on that one. She opened on the ground a few times as well. It won't be long with her and the switch will flip.

Brown was his usual solid self. Needed a couple of reminders on another type of furbearer once the fur started falling out of the tree. LOL. Overall a real good hunt.

I've hunted with Turkey a few times including a couple times in the last 2 weeks. He's put on a clinic both nights treeing coons a little behind other dogs, a little in front and way in front. I don't know how much better a coondog can look. Ruby is coming along nice and is just the right age and stage to benefit from a good fall/winter of hunting.

Little GC had a good hunt last night. She and Abby and my buddy's dog treed one at 6/10ths of a mile deep. Knocked it out and didn't let her touch it. We moved and they caught one on the ground. Recast there and her and Abby struck one in some standing corn, pushed it out of there and treed it. I'm pretty happy with her.

For a 7month old pup, she is doing a great job and hide season was timed out perfectly for her. I think if you look back on this thread I said I would be treeing coon with her this fall. These pups out of Turkey are the absolute easiest starting pups I've messed with. Feed, Water, Run Loose, Show a coon, take to the woods. Done.

Nice work Chris. You're doing a great job with that pup. I spoke with Jessie Greer (Walker guy) today, his pup out of gr nt ch Jim's red amber is treeing coons solo on a regular basis,shes a littermate to my Ruby female. He says that he should be hitting the nite hunts in the spring. I love to see the results of everyone's hard work they're putting into these pups. Turkeys pups are very young but the results are about to show up in the next competition season.
