Do you have any pup's on the way out of cheif and one of your females? I bought a female from you out of screech, about 2/5 years ago. She was doing good but got in a accident and had to be put down. I am a comp Hunter from n.y.

I just got back from IN. I made the trip to breed Fury to Wild N blue Jet. I would like to thank Mackie for breeding Jet to Fury, As well as taking me for a hunt. It was 84 degrees when we cut dogs lose. We made it a short hunt because of the heat. We made two drops, two trees, and had a good time. Thanks again Mack. Pedigree of cross made.

Fury had her pups yesterday. [9-19- 2017] She started having pups around noon. Checked on her threw out the day and evening. last check she had ten, and the same count this am. They all look good. I will leave mom and pups alone for a day or two. then Ill get a count on males and females

After a rain filled summer the weather in NY has turned. We have had over a week of dry weather with no rain in sight for a few more days. Temps have been in the 80s, and they are calling for a record high of 92 tomorrow. This has been one of the wettest summers I have seen here. We needed for things to dry up some. even with all the heat the last few days, the leaves are coming off the trees pretty fast. This is my favorite time of year. I have another Daughter getting married in two weeks, so I am going to be on the run for next week or two. I have not posted any of my trips to the woods with the hounds in a long time. In a week or two I going to start posting some of my hunts again. Chief has been soaking up the sun and enjoying the summer shade when he needs to cool off. I have two female here that I will be hunting by their self's most of the fall. I also have two that I will be using Chief to start them. Once I get them started I have a couple of buddies that are going to run them with their older broke dogs for kill season. take care Dave

Wanted to thank you Dave for breeding such nice hounds !!!
I had Apple bred ( my female out of Chief) to my Frozen Bad Boy Brussel semen doubling up Brussel in the puppies ped. !!!
Only had 2 pups due to the timing But they are Beautiful and Very Nice acting !!
Ill keep you updated on their progress and look forward to finishing Apple in the hunts Soon !!

It was opening night of coon season here in western NY. This was my first hunt with Jet since I brought him home. As I walked out to the kennel to get Jet. My son Jordan asked me when was the last time I had Chief out. I told him its been close to a year. Jordan responded with poor old Chief. I told Jordan to grab a lead and bring the old fellow along. My plan was to hunt Jet by himself, But with the extra pair of young legs, It would be nice to get Chief out. 1st dump Chief fell treed at 250 yards and Jet backed. The tree was a big Maple covered with Grape vines. We couldn't find the coon. The coon could have been their, But I felt they missed. We walked the dogs about 30 yards from the tree, and cut them lose. Chief did a 180 and headed back toward the tree, and fell treed again. Jet backed him with in a second or two. I broke off a switch on my way to them. The plan was to cut them off the tree with a swat on their butts. Much to my surprise they had treed about 10 t0 15 feet from the first tree, and had the coon. We rolled it out, and JET got his first taste of a NY coon. We walked back to the Unit [side by side] and cut lose in the opposite direction. Chief struck at 375 yards. Jet stuck in on the same track at 400 yards. They took the track about 400 yards in a small u out of the woods into a corn field, and treed at about 500 yards from us on the edge of the woods and corn field. Chief treed first, with Jet seconds behind him. We hoped in the Unit and drove around to them. We had to drive about a half mile from them, Then back towards them. We drove up to within 40 yards from the tree. Both dogs where stretched out treeing shoulder to shoulder. They had the coon. It was a pretty sight, and they both where milking it. 3rd drop Jet stuck at 250 yard and Chief joined in. They took the track 400 yards, and where headed toward the road. we jumped in the unit and drove over to the road they thy was headed for. Wen we got their Jet was about 40 yards a head of Chief going up a ditch with a creek in it along the side of the road. I grabbed Jet, And Jordan grabbed Chief. Jordan had to get up at 430 am for work so we called it a night.
