One more time...

I spent about a half hour messing with the pups this afternoon after a small storm passed through and cooled things down. I should have taken pictures but can't handle the rope, the hide and the pups and take pictures

I'm getting a real good response from all these pups and I'm liking what I see. I still have the big dogs in with them and it's like a stampede but some of these pups are right in under the big dogs and are very intense already. They are just 4 months old and little guys but the basics that I look for are in place just like what I've seen so many times in the past.

I have 3 males available from the Moose and Leinie cross and one male available from the Yank and Angel cross. $200 picked up here for now but as soon as I get them a little further along in training, the price goes up.

If you're looking for good breeding with proven history for generation after generation, then get yourself one of these pups.

Great Day!

A new day...another generation...

Dave and I showed the pups a live coon for the first time today...it made me smile...again...and again....

Lots of interest...

In your face...

TREED!

Meet PR T-Top Dark Timber Cloud

Meet PR T-Top Dark Timber Slim...

Looking good...

These pups will be 4 months old on July 29th. Since exposing them to scent using play training, we have given them simple progression, like we always do. After a short introduction period...like of about 30 seconds...they all showed interest and aggression towards the coon. By the time we had the cage hung in the tree, we had a full blown ruckus going on...

The older dog in the photos is Maggie, a real nice young female out of Haze...she is ready for full time in the woods and we'll be talking about her in the near future. We figured that we'd need a lead dog to fire up the pups but we were wrong...they were ready to get all over the coon without any help.

There are 3 or 4 pups in this bunch that we will keep back to put extended time on but the rest will get repetitions for as long as we have them here.

There are 3 males available from the Moose and Leinie cross and 1 available from the Yank and Angel cross.

It was hard to separate them out in the pictures but they're all in there and showing extremely good interest, both with aggression on the ground and interest around the tree to look up and sound off. We've seen this time and time again in the past and you've all seen some of it with us in this thread, with dogs like Yank, Moose, Cuz and all the rest...get yourself a top prospect...there's a reason we keep turning out top prospects like this...don't let them slip away.

Update

Hey Roger, you know how to put the good ones together, you've been doing it for years and years and what you're doing is a credit to the breed. I appreciate any favorable comments especially coming from someone who knows Red dogs like you do.

There are no pups available from the Moose and Leinie cross at this time. Thank you to the folks who called to get one of these pups.

We have one male left available from the Yank and Angel cross. We will keep messing with him as long as he's here but the price on him now is $450 at the stage he's at now. If he keeps coming on like I believe he will, the price will go up according to his ability at the time.

I don't know what else to say or do to show folks that this line of hounds continues to produce outstanding prospects that turn into outstanding hounds at a young age...it's all here in the pages of this thread in pictures and words. We know and understand that there are some wonderful choices available these days and I suppose, many times closer than west central Wisconsin but these pups are the real deal when they're available, even first time crosses are proving to be full of potential just like all the proven crosses of the past.

We'll continue to update progress on these pups and as you see them develop look back at some of the past comments and photos and give some thought to how all that history just continues to repeat itself.

It doesn't happen by chance...it takes a good foundation line of hounds and then some honest effort to provide education, opportunity and repetition.

Tom, who got the little light colored pup without a collar on? I would have loved to have gotten him. If I didn't have 4 here now, I would have gotten in my Jeep and headed to Wisconsin.

Pup

That male is one of the pups with the BIG mouth. He is really going to be a more cherry red color but a couple are so dark that they make the conventionally colored pups look light in color. That male without the collar and the dark male with the leather collar are both out of Moose and Leinie and both are pistols on the coon and very outgoing and easy to get your hands on. I love them both to death and one will stay here while the other goes to NC. The other real dark pup with the green collar on is out of Yank and Angel and is my pick to stay here. The whole bunch of them acts the way I expect to see pups act but I'll have to say that they are actually firing up a little quicker this time around. Folks will be hearing about these pups in the not so distant future because I see what I look for in them all.

The smaller red pup with the leather collar on is also an outstanding prospect and is supposed to go to a fellow in Arkansas...The other red pup with the leather collar on is headed to Kentucky if the guy follows up like he said he would. I'll actually be messing with a few of those pups for awhile so it should be fun to see how it all unfolds.

Pup

The last pup that was availble, from the Yank and Angel cross is spoken for.

There are no more pups available from either cross at the moment. If someone doesn't come through to claim their pup, then I'll bring them back on here for sale but for now, they're all spoken for.

Thanks to the folks who showed an interest in these pups.

Thanks

You and Brett will have yourselves a couple of outstanding young males. I'll keep messing with them until their ride comes to get them but right now, there isn't anything about them that I don't like. I'll be looking forward to all these pups turning into nice hounds in the not so distant future.

I'll be here to help you guys in any way so don't be afraid to call on me.

What a crew!

Man-oh-man...what a pack of pups! I love this stuff...there's nothing better related to coonhounds than to look at and imagine the potential in a pup.

Can't hardly miss with that cross and I can't wait to see Gun when he comes home to Wisconsin....

Great pictures Dave...

Dave, those sure are some nice looking pups. Kind of look like a hound pup is supposed to look. I bet they'll make some dogs with some woods time on them. Good luck with them.

Update

I heard from Don Barnett Sr. this morning and he told me that his partner, Jason Goodwin hunted his nice young male dog called Deuce in a UKC hunt in Conway AR got his first place win. 200 plus 450 circle no minus.

Deuce is out of Dual Gr. Ch. PR T-Top Rabble Rouser and Gr. Nt. Ch. PR Machine Gun Annie. I've heard of a few other pretty nice young dogs out of that cross so it must have been a good one.

Congratulations to Don and Jason and Deuce, he sounds like a real nice young hound.

Pups

It was pretty warm today but I got a little pup training done before it got too hot...

Getting with the program...8 weeks old.

This is our pick...this little guy reminds me of how ol' Rat was when he was a pup...couldn't help but be attracted to him.

These males are out of
Nt. Ch. PR T-Top Northwood's Yankee
and
Dual Gr. Ch. PR T-Top - Hill Top Shelly

This is a double Dual Gr. Ch. PR T-Top Rabble Rouser cross.

There were two males and one female in the cross and all three are good looking and nice acting pups. Don picked up Shelly and the female pup yesterday but we'll mess with these two and see what happens...eh?

At this point it's only play but we expect their attitude will change quite a bit over the next two months...at least that's what past history would tell us is going to happen...

More pups

I also messed with a couple of males that will be going to their new homes in Arkansas in another week or two.

This male is out of Moose and Leinie...

This male is out of Yank and Angel...

I believe these two pups will be to the stage where they might be able to tag along already by this fall. They are nice pups from two nice litters. I'm very excited about the future of these two litters and expect that they'll make a mark somewhere down the road.

That's pretty cool Carl, it looks like she was getting into it pretty good. I like to see it happen for a green dog like that, it kind of makes the effort on your part worthwhile. I'm glad you're enjoying her Carl, that makes it all worthwile for me too.

Hey Tom,
Fired JJ up solo tonight. It's been about 14 months since the last time she was run solo. Figured I'd have a problem and I did.
First drop. Out a 100 yards back in, out again and back. Third time out and back made a correction. I could tell she was looking for Tater. Boom struck at 260 yards, tracked and treed 386 yards.
Had the meat
Second drop. Boom treed. Known den tree. Quick shine. Was going to call it a night, but she was winding hard. Cast her. She pushed the track down the creek then out into the soy beans. After about a half hour of being owned in the beans I pulled her. Beans are waist to chest deep on me. She was out in the middle and going in circles.
I'm going to rotate dogs between drops this hide season. Figured better get her used to it again. We'll be at again tonight.
