i would say yes for two reasons. one with the drag hes under your control. and two the whole purpose is to get him to buddy up tight with the other dogs. right now he dont care what the other dogs are doing. once you get in his head and he understands that the other dogs are his team he should pull in tighter to the other dogs as he will want to be part of that kill etc.. years ago a friend of mine in pa had the same problem with his dog. he brought it up in four days it was a different dog. from the pictures he pulls in good when another dog trees on a coon is this correct. question do you think hes going wide squrr hunting because he thinks he coon hunting and he keeps going trying to find a coon track. orchidhunter put any breed of dog on a chain put him out back were only one guy feeds him and sees him. after 6 months this dog will put the teeth in every strangers butt. to bad i dont have such a dog i would invite you over.

Mark, you know it's funny you and other folks think them dogs look like Plotts, and some folk think that man with the dogs looks like Von Plott returning from a bear hunt.

"In 1982 Johnny Plott -- the grandson of Von Plott -commissioned local artist Frank Sanders to do an original painting of the legendary Von Plott and his famous Plott bear hounds returning from a bear hunt. As you can see, it is an extraordinary one of a kind painting. Frank is now deceased and there were never prints made of the original painting."

I am in the progress of forming a parent club for the preservation of the true original curs. OMCBA stock is getting smaller and losing some of their key traits in favor of squirrel dogs. I’ve been working on bringing them back to those abilities and improving the health and structure for the future. If anyone is interested, please email walnutridgemtncurs@yahoo.com.
