We just got our power restored here and what a time we have had... We lost all of food etc. No structical damage here but much damage in the woods.. We did hunt last night made three drops 1st drop den 2nd drop three coons were seen and last drop holed... I can't get my pics to upload but I will soon.

To all of my friends I have lost all of my contacts that was in my cell phone so please contact me with your contacts numbers so I can save them agian..

Lots of people still with out power some say could be upto three weeks or so... Prayer for all.... JR

We are sorry to hear about your storm damage. It sounds like you are in a place where you can hunt for you food if you needed to. Not having gasoline to be able to get to work could be a big problem.

Roofus' first litter of 8 Grandpuppies arrived yesterday. His daughter 'PR' PLAIN ENGLISH'S MADDY GEES SUE x NITE CH 'PR' BROWNS GAULEY RIVER IKE HTX needs one win to become GrNt. These pups should make excellent big game and competive coon hounds. they should be loaded with loud bawl mouths and cold noses...

Junior, I am not sure they are the first Roofus grandpups, the guy that has Roofus' first litter daughter raised a litter out of her. They would be close to the same age as your pups.

I am glad to see you posting, I thought maybe your new job was keeping you too busy to post.

Junior, I never count my puppies until they are 6 weeks old. As heartbreaking as it can be, losing pups is part of raising pups. Good luck with the rest of the litter.

Here are updated pictures of Roofus' Grand pups

1st female will be going to Curtis Starcher We are donating her to this years graduate as he is wanting to persue Bear hunting. This pup will be givin to him on his birthday next month...

2nd female which is our pick of the litter but however we aren't keeping a female this time. This pup maybe going to Ohio..

3rd female the only Redtick in the litter this one maybe going to Huricane WV

The only male of this litter was to go to the breeder but he has agreed to let me keep him.

'PR' PLAIN ENGLISH GAULEYRIVER CHEZ

P.S. These pups have not been seen to anyone yet that's why they are listed the way they are, The guy in Ohio has his choice to pick first. Although I made the choice on the first female to donate to our local youth... I have been very busy with different thing going on lately I am strugling in the dog world. I haven't been on here much and have been out of comunication with several. I am sorry for any problems this may have created but something come first.
The sire to these pups just finished last week to HTX 2. However he does still like one win making Gr Nt Ch.. He his a well built hound easy handled loud mouthed and very houndy. He is knowN as NITE CH 'PR' BROWNS GAULEY RIVER IKE HTX 2.
These will be performanced as well as both parents are. However I have strugled on getting the papers in order. I have always had my papers ready to go with my pups. I did get the paper work completed today and they will be put in the mail tomorrow.
Thanks for all the interest I had in this cross. Sorry the litter came up short. At least one person came up a little shorter because I chose to take care of a youth first. Our youth is our future I don't breed for money so I try to help at least one youth from every litter. Thanks to all and God Bless, JR

Well the first Roofus' Grand pup of this litter was delivered today to Curtis Starcher. He was at football practice so I couldn't be there to personal hand her to him. However I have request a picture of him with her he has already named her Annie. His mother says he will be very happy and asures me that Annie will be hunted hard on bear. I was also wrong about his birthday being this month it was last month on 9/11...

There isn't areater thing in this world than a happy child. I feel confident this pup will get a fair chance to become a great bear hound... Congrads Curtis and good luck!!! Thanks for excepting our line of hounds.

P.S.
I would like to say thanks to Dave Haugh for sending Roofus to WV and to William "Bill" Brown for breeding his fine male to Roofus' daughter. Bill has done a great job keeping his Gauley River hounds going. His first Gauley River hound came from me in which mine came from the one and only Berton Oney. I would I would also like to thank him as well without Beton the Gauley River line woudn't be here. Thanks to all and remember the youth is our sports favorite contender... So next time you have a litter donate at least one pup to them!!!
