Coles County Hunt

I left about 9:15 we had 10 dogs and good grubb. Riley and Glen did some needed house cleaning. Place looked nice when I left. Got to visit with some good people. Mark and I donated for after hunt. Missed my friend Toby Lane going to have to hunt him up. Glad to hear everybody had good scores it was a warm nice night.

Dixie and Dizzy that is some nice dog power competeing, maybe next time Magic and Brewser will get in the and maybe ICee and some other grand nites. Sure glad to see them able to do something.

Thanks to Riley, Glen and Mark for taking over good job men.

Have a good hunt, Jeff

We're on the same page here brother,I got tired real quick of freezin' my fanny off,so we built a cabin ta hunt out of,with a stove, then the deer disappeared the last 2 years,so now it's wait till they come back, until then I'll just wait 'em out, cabin ain't goin' nowhere. Today's the last nice warm day then for 5 or more days.

3 dens for walker and the old man.

Hunt started off good hunted a place I hadn't hunted in 30 years, struck right off went flying up a creek to a den tree Big hole in bottom of it. Left that went 50 yards farther and a broken off snag. Went to another place hit a nice track and it was one of those trees in a fence row that touched on both sides of the ground no coon. Tried one more time hit a track by creek and sent it to a big sycamore den. Hit one more track put up in a pin oak with more leaves I couldn't find coon. No coon for me and the walker. 2 nd time out for me this year.

Andrew and Blue dog went behind house he got the one coon, Moose found and treed with trap on its leg.

Never have liked the taste of crow, but was served it anyway by Andy. My only consulation is I trained his dog now for him as a pup and started him.

End of hunt. Jeff

Andrews Coon

It was a huge sow, that looked like it had never suckled young. Biggest sow coon I have ever saw. Rolling in fat.

HE double toothpicks I ain't ready for it or do I want it,spent all day up at twp. shed makin' last min. preparations. Dandy Andy did good a coon & a trap back. South Coles County is the dividin' line so the weather says, north 2-3 in. south 3-5 in. Sure is gonna suck after 60 degrees today & 40's most of the week earlier.
