Chris, yes she took and we will have pups Soon!! I will have pups everywhere but all different ages. I like choices when picking one that stays here and I will have plenty to choose from over the next year. Plus, Mason and I love fooling with the pups, Beverly said for me not to put the blame on Mason for buying more pups plus having a litter of our on but it does take some of the heat off me!, Lol!

Chris the temps will be dropping tonight. This is the next 5 days with lows near 60 for several of them. That will be about 15 degrees cooler than we have been having so it will feel great. Bam Bam is off Hugger 11 owned by Mike Lovekamp and Boomer owned by Terry Tucker. I think Boomer is number one on reproducers list and Hugger11 is a Dual Grand and is Stormy's sister. One of their other sisters was bred to Boomer a couple or so years ago with great results. Roger Murdock owns a fine hound from that cross named Thunder that Wendell McCool is hunting for him. I sure don't need any more to hunt because 2 is to many sometimes But, I always like trying something out of the different crosses that I like and this one should really be special. Not all these pups will stay here, some might be sold or given away if the 3 things I like in a hound don't suite me as they get older. Those 3 things are: MOUTH, ABILITY and LOOKS. I am not a dog jockey or trader. Those people try to make money on buying and selling hounds, I don't. I have always LOST money on every hound or pup I have sold. And I don't count the dog food or worming's. A recent pup I sold I paid 450 for and dog hauler 250 to get it here. That's 700. I sold pup months later for 600 and she would tree coons. Nice gyp but had a high pitched mouth that didn't suite me but new owner really likes her and that's what counts. So when I saw this pup for sale and heard video of his brother and sister treeing on scent on Boomers thread and they say this one has big mouth to for a little pup, well, Mason and I just couldn't resist. Beverly hasn't started packing, Yet, so all is well so far! Like I told you before that Mighty Blue Jake hound I owned had the giddy up that a lot of people are looking for today so I'm hoping this pup with the great hounds behind him will be the " ONE "!!

We still have her Chris. This is a picture from last week of her winding the live traps and trying to see what was on top of Masons Club House. She didn't bark, just walked around on her hind feet a while. I haven't trapped one in a while so if she was still smelling coon on those traps and the leaves in them she is going to have a very cold nose, to cold for me, lol! She don't bawl much at all but when she does her mouth sounds pretty good, I will know more in a few months when we start fooling with her. How's your hounds doing?

That's good to hear about Star. I'm loaded up with some pretty good young ones. Wolf is coming along nice. That boy has a mouth! I've been going slow because of the heat and snakes, but in a few weeks I'll be hunting the hair off him. Couple of others, but I don't want to hijack your thread.

I stole this picture from another thread about hunting rigs. I told Beverly if I didn't quit buying pups this is what my 4 wheeler will look like next year, except they will be BLUE! I better get off here, Bo and Briar are hollering for me to quit internet hunting and lets go do the real thing!

Took them to BO's bottom and the coon just weren't moving tonight. Briar located up a few times but didn't stick then he got on a Wabbit and got bumped for that so he quit it and Bo got deep and just fell treed without opening on the ground. Was able to ride close and went into him and he was on a huge water oak with giant vines going into it. Bad thing was a lot of privet hedge all around and I couldn't have shined the tree without doing some bull dozer work first. Loaded them up and brought Briar home and took Bo to Haunted House Bottom where I think he trailed a ghost for an hour. Never had him hang up in one area as long as he did tonight. Open a few times on the ground then go to locating over and over. Get quite a while, move 30yds one way or another and do same thing again. He located up 4 different trees within a 100yd area and never stuck. I finally went in and caught him and came home. Should have put a limb on his behind and sent him to look for another one but I had enough. Ghost Coon I guess that just floats from tree to tree confusing good hounds. Best excuse I can come up with or I would have to call it sorry hound work. In todays world that might offend my dog and hurt his feelings so Ghost Coon it was!!

It was clear calm and dry here last night with .75 moon. Jazz went .8 around a corn field before she hit a track last night. Only one we hit. Bad night for us too.

Steve, I see were you are getting one of the Zero X Fannie pups.

I’m trying to reach the guy with the pups to see if he has any left, I want one.
How do you plan to get your pup?
Are you riding up there to pick it up or having someone bring it down?
If I can get one I would like to see if we can get together on picking up the pups, however you plan to do it.

Casey that owns the Sire, Zero, is going to let me know how he will get his picked up. He lives in Florida and maybe I will go to his place to pick up mine, maybe meet him somewhere or we might just use the same hauler. Either way we do it I would be glad to help you out if I can. Go ahead and get one booked, they have the blood to be some great ones come out of that litter.

Got in from work this morning at 4am so I grabbed the gun and loaded Briar and Bo on the 4 wheeler and took off to Haunted House Bottom but didn't get on a track there so took them to Black Branch Swamp. Cut Bo first and he went over 800yds before he struck a cold track so I rode closer and cut Briar to him. They worked on the track about 10 minutes and got it warmed up but it still wasn't a running track. They made a big loop and came out of the bad stuff to the edge of the swamp woods and Bo located and treed with Briar joining him about 30 seconds later. It was just starting to break daylight as I headed into them. They were treed on a big, dead, pine and 30' up the coon was hungered down in the broke out top. You could just see the hump of his back. I tried squalling him out but no luck so we left him to run another day. Took this picture just as I got back to the 4 wheeler and Bo as usual was looking up in the trees to make sure he hadn't missed any! Briar treed good once he got on it and steady all the way into them. Didn't meet me off the tree either. Its time he was by himself for a few months and he will be as soon as I get him to Troy's one week from today. Looking forward to a hunt with him and seeing how the coon run in OK. Good Hunting!!

Took Bo and Briar out to Amite county tonight to the Ole Roberts Place. On the way out I saw two coons in different spots crossing the road right at dark so I was thinking this would be a good hunt even with the moon shining bright. Wrong. Cut them toward the creek and Bo didn't go 200yds and looped back. He wasn't acting right tonight, don't know what was wrong. I snapped him up and moved further down the road and cut him again. I kept Briar on the lead and was walking along and saw a Rabbit get up and bounce off. As I got closer I saw Briar perk up as he winded the Rabbit so I cut him and put my finger on the button. He opened and I bumped on 2. He opened again I bumped. He kept going and was determined to run it and had got over 200yds away and I was on 4 to make him quit. About that time Bo was over 400yds away but near the little county road and he just fell treed. I saw on Garmin Briar headed his way. About time I got to Bo so had Briar and he left there rolling something with Bo locked down treed. He was on a little tree loaded with vines and in those vines was a little coon. I snapped him up and looked at Garmin and Briar was over 500yds away and I figured running the ole sow coon, that is until I noticed the little fellow hugging the ground looking at me 25' from where Bo was treed. A baby fawn, OH BOY! Briar sure is sounding good and floating that track BUT, which mama is it: The Sow Coon OR The Big Doe?!! He can run a hot coon track like most hounds run a hot deer so I wasn't sure yet but my gut and my Tri- Tronics finger said: DEER! But my Brain said I had to be sure. I used to run deer with dogs as a teenager and knew ever crossing on that little county road and the way he was headed there was a crossing a half mile from me so I loaded up in the truck and took out. Just as I pulled up to where the deer used to cross over 30 years ago, out pops Briar into the road. He went to school a little and I loaded him up. Been a Long time that I had a hound as determined as him to run trash, any trash. He has so much potential and has shown the tools he has to work with and he could be something special BUT, I don't see him being broke from this junk very easy. I thought I had the Rabbit problem under control but that is not the case. Hopefully Troy can get the kinks ironed out and have him looking better In a couple or 3 months. I have had enough and have done good to have been patient with him this long.

This evening while riding the 4 wheeler on sandbar upriver from the house I spotted an ice chest hung up on a log out in the river. Someone must have turned over in there canoe over the weekend and couldn't fight the current to get back to it and must have been lazy or they would have beached the canoe a little down river and walked back up and swam out and got it. Well I told Beverly we were going to have another ice chest and I hit the river. As I got to it and grabbed the handle I noticed a big tree about a foot and a half under the water that went back to the bank on the other side of the river, and it was straight as an arrow with no limbs or knots on it. That usually means one of two things or trees I should say. Sinker Cypress or Sinker Heart Pine. I walked down it to the other side of the river where it disappeared into the bank where it had got undermined many years ago, fell into the river and was waiting to be discovered by me. I determined it was indeed a Sinker Cypress and my heart started racing and when I came out of the river Beverly didn't have to ask what it was or if I would be cutting it loose and winching it tomorrow, She Knows! Looks to be 50' that I can get and will be probably 28" in diameter. Looks like a steel pipe with very little taper and this is the Top end. As the river eats the rest out of the bank this winter it will only get bigger the next 50'. I haven't pulled a Sinker in a while as I have a barn full of lumber drying but you can't look a gift horse in the mouth! The ice chest still had some ice in it and 9 Bud Lights and 4 Coors Light in it. Back in the day I would have sat down right there with a line in the water fishing until I drank them all but I had Beverly pour them out into the river and we bagged up the empty's for garbage pickup. The Lord sent the ice chest so I would find the Sinker Cypress but the Devil put the Beer in it, lol!


P. S. Was talking to my Mom just now on the phone and told her the story and that I would be pulling a log tomorrow if her and Pops wanted to come out and watch. She said to come on here and put P. S., From pulling this log I will probably have another double hernia surgery and another carpel tunnel surgery! lol! She said the Devil put the Beer and the Sinker there, I told her a man can only resist so much temptation, everyone has their breaking point and Sinker is mine!

Left Briar at home tonight and took BO alone. Went to Haunted House Bottom and he treed 3 times and I looked at 5 coon. Two singles and a sow with her 2 young in the last tree. Cut him down the creek and he didn't go 200yds, opened twice and fell treed. He was on a big water oak with a lot of vines and it took me a minute but I found him laid out on a limb looking up. Left him, took Bo off the tree and walked about 50' and cut him on down the creek. Same story, open a few times, then, Bam, treed again at 467yds. Went up the gravel road on my 4 wheeler and went down a lane through some planted pines that was thinned last year and drove under the tree he was on, gotta love that. Big magnolia with lots of vines and I was thinking I wouldn't find this one but as soon as I hit the squaller he looked at me so I put this one down to Bo. Cut him from there on down the creek and a repeat of the first two trees. Opened hot a few times and, Bam, Treed. This tree was a tupelo gum and out on a big limb to the left was a big coon and two little ones so we left them alone and came on home. All this happened in an hour which is rare around here but coon were moving and Bo was Jamming them tonight under the big, bright moon. Whatever was wrong with his mood last night he sure got over it quick. Yaw know how it goes, you leave the young hound at home that needs a few nights and trees like this and this is what happens. Take them with you and they run junk like last night under the big moon. Wish I would have had Briar by himself and caught this many coon moving in that area, would have done him a lot of good. I would have liked to have kept hunting to see just how many BO could have treed tonight but I head into work tomorrow evening for the last weekend of work on I-10 so didn't want to wear myself out as I have a lot of hours to put in this weekend. But, this will wind this job up and life will be back to working 4 days a week during the day and hunting every night I want to. Been a long summer waiting on this weekend to get here, time for some Good Hunting and Cooler Weather! I talked to Corky Burke and he will be picking up Bam Bam for me after Autumn Oaks next weekend. Im glad he can because I'm behind on things around the house and making a rush trip to Troys Wednesday and coming right back home next day because of all I have to do. I have finished forming up for new puppy pen under the houses of my kennel and will get that poured in the next couple weeks so when Stormy pups get 3 weeks old I can move them out of the building into their new pen with ole mama. That will be first of October so should be cooling off and good for them to be outside. She is bigger every day and eating like a pig. Can't wait until the little rascals get here!

Picture of Bo from last nights last tree. Enjoyed that hunt and wished I could have hunted all night. A teenager that lives about an hour from me is getting one of the pups from Stormy and Bo. I didn't know him and one day back in the summer his Paw Paw, him and his brother showed up on a Saturday having been told by someone that I had some nice Blue dogs and they were in the market for a pup. I told them that when I bred Stormy I would put them on the list. One of the boys, Kade, found my Facebook page and told me him and his Paw Paw had built a box for the back of their Rhino UTV and was in the process of building a box for their truck and he couldn't hardly wait to get his new pup. I told him that my Dad and I built a box 30 years ago that I still have today. When Stormy and the pups leave the building I have her in they will have that box in their pen to call home. I told him its something to be proud of to build your on box and shows that you are serious about coon hunting and caring for your pup or hound. I told him I was giving them their pup as MR. Frank years ago had given me a couple when I was starting out and I wanted to pay it forward. Love to see a young man so excited about getting a pup and raising it up to be a Cooner. That's what matters more to me than worrying about getting it into a competition hunters hands and the reproducers percentage or performance pay. That's important to but the youth come first. If only one pup in that litter makes a Coonhound, I hope its theirs.

That right there is what it's all about...I have a spare light that kid can have if he needs a light. It's not new, but it has shined many a coon ( probably a opossum or three and a couple armidillos..haha) Youth are the future of hunting and a little kindness goes a long way.

Kenny357, thanks. Bo is very accurate and I like him. I can count on one hand how many times I knew for sure he missed since he started treeing coons. Other than that it is some trees I don't find them because of the hedge thickets making it impossible to shine the tree or it being a big, leafy tree and he just wouldn't look or maybe wasn't there. I came in from hunting one night and saw you had Sally up for sale but had also posted sold. I sure would have bought her if I had known you were going to sell her and would have crossed her back on Bocephus. That cross IMO needs to be made again.

Casey, thanks and I will find out if Kade needs a light. I know his Paw Paw coon hunted several years ago and he has been going with some friends that have hounds but don't know the type light he's using. Very generous of you to offer the light. He seems like a real good kid, very polite and I could see that fire in his eyes as we talked hounds and hunting that day so he has the coon hunting fever BAD and I just want to help him keep it.

Rowdy, I confirmed your friend request and as you can see the same pictures I put on here I put on Facebook. Stormy is getting bigger by the day, two weeks from today we should see what she has. She is eating like a horse. I tried to find fresh goat milk to freeze so I would have it but no luck locally so I bought the powder from TSC yesterday and Strongid T liquid wormer for the pups. I will worm her next week and a few days before she is due start giving her the powdered milk with her feed along with raw egg and liver. They say that supposed to make them give lots of milk but she isn't going to need it I don't think. She is really bagging up now. Will take another picture of her today and post.
