45 here and rainin pretty good no huntin just got off the phone guy wanting to trade me a remington model 700 243with a tasco scope for my red gyp said it's in good shape think it should be worth close 500 bucks tell me what y'all think

Is it a BDL, ADL, or????which will impact value, usually tasco not a high end real expensive scope, nice guns...

Hillbilly I wouldn't know a thing what that guns worth but it sounds like a good deal,1 thing I can tell ya both gun & dog can be stolen but the gun won't die or eat. And if ya get to keep your Garmin then better yet.

yep know what your sayin about the dog and gun the way my knes and legs are gettin im not gonna get anymore hounds may get some beagles probly will sell the garmin to but not gona give it away only been use 6 or seven times new it cost 700 bucks so im figurein it's worth 500

recall

There is a recall of 700s made from 2006-14, trigger, some have fired when closing the bolt, over 7 million are effected, but very few have had triggers replaced, can look online for information...

thank's for the info not sure but i think this rifle is 1 of the older 1s i'll probly never shoot it probly do some tradein with it i don't like them small caliber rifles i try them i finaly did some tradein with a buddy got my 7 mag back i'll have my boy to look up the searil # see what yr it was made

am a gun dealer, prefer the older ones, do like the .243, accurate-versatile, have 7mm mag ruger #1, should be a good trade for you, in illinois can't use rifle to deer hunt, shotgun and slug, muzzleloader, and a pistol season, most deer I have ever seen was in WV....

, Several years ago I loaned a young fellow my TC Hawken , anyway he brought it back to me and the double trigger was broken , can you fix it or do you know a good gunsmith that can ? Thanks .

can use scope, another is Ogelsby and Ogelsby, 217-487-7100, he builds guns, pistolsmith, you may have seen him on tv on the sportsman channels, trick shooter badlands bill, he may not be the least expensive, know of others, but do not know them...

i do know a 243 is a good flat shootin gun but after usein the 7 mag for a few yrs these little guns don't suit me go my trout poles out of the rafters in my building gotta check my bass poles out the wifes grandson put his poles up there seen 1 of my ugly stick was broke where he jam his up in there had a 100 bucks in the pole and reel both was same as new im more than just mad i may punch him right in the face when he come around

it may not i have ta see what model it is if i can get 400 i'll be alright i like the dog but my legs is gone i can't get up these hills around here lately hate to let her waste away in a pen the deal isn't a done deal yet all i have ta do is call the guy and it's done if i do it think im done with the hounds gettin to old and cripple up to try and coon hunt anymore just keep telling myself i can still hunt

HB, look at gunbroker.com, will be tons of them listed, many variations, but will give you an idea of what they may bring, as always worth what someone is willing to pay, but are good rifles....
