Hunt

Well I one of them hunts tonight that we try to forget. I had a caged coon and got my two Jobe x Magic pups fired up. I cut him loose and cut pups shortly after. They ran him good but he went into a spillway from a pond. Next drop I cut Blade alone. He didn't hunt well. I loaded him up and cut Cotton loose. Cotton struck a sorry track and was opening sporadically. I cut Blade in to her. He never went to her but ended up on a logging road and just ran it for about a mile and came out on a country paved road. I drove around to find him lying on the side of the road. He had been hit but wasn't dead. He was bloated and bleeding out of his anus so I had to put him down. Tore the antenna off my Garmin but didn't look like any other damage to it. I drove back around and a Cotton was locating but wasn't too sure. She finally settled and I went to her. She was treed slick. That doesn't happen too often with her but I guess it just topped off a sorry night!!! Darren

Appreciate the condolences on Blade. He was a hard going dog but had developed a problem of running roads. If he came out on a road he would run it for miles.

Elmo- I know where there is a sister to him that has been hunted a handful of times and she will run and tree. I may try to get her in my hands. You are right about those hard going dogs. Usually they are ok in my hunting area if they are looking to tree a coon. I think he was just rambling.

Coty - Jason Myers and Drake were partners on WITCH. They got frustrated with her about slick trees. She was a natural as a pup. I saw her tree coons at a very young age. They sold her to a guy in Ohio if I remember right.

DARREN, I HATE THAT ABOUT BLADE. I BELEIVE YOU GOT HIM STRAIGHTENED OUT HE WAS GOING TO BE A NICE HOUND. Micky, Jason , Trent , I appreciate it guys. Anyone that has hunted much has had it happen or had close calls. This is the 3rd one in 4 yrs for me. All were crazy circumstances.

Rick I'm sure I can find something to hunt in the kennel. I'm excited about the prospects. The two males I raised out of Logan and Dixie are GOOD LOOKING SUCKERS !!! The pup I got out of Logan x Bell is a GOOD LOOKING RASCAL TOO!! My Jobe male is 7 mths old and has a head bigger than Rock. Got some prospects for sure.

Darren you still more then welcome to breed a female to Judge. he has gotten 3 nite ch wins in 10 days. 14th, 21st, and 22nd the last 2 at Alabama State high scoring dog on friday with 500+ and 450+on saturday night. Placed 2nd overall. needs one more win to grand out maybe i will get it in a week or two

HUNT

Made a couple drops last night with Cotton alone. First drop she struck in at 375 yds and opened about 5 times and loaded up treed. She was on a big pine tree and we couldn't spot her coon but she was hammering. I cut her off that tree and she struck in at 300 more yards and started working a track. She worked dwon the creek and came out on a small ditch and soon loaded up treed. She had two up one tree and one of them fell out to her. Must have had some slick bark. Started lightening, raining and thundering. We called it a night and put up dogs. Gone head out to Leeds to the BBOA Alabama State Championship Saturday and try our luck. Y'all Keep'em lookin' Up!!! DARREN I HATE WHEN THEY SLIP LIKE THAT. SHORT TOE NAIL AND WET SLICK BARK MAKES FOR A DIASTER FOR THE COON EVERYTIME. GOOD LUCK SATURDAY NIGHT WITH COTTON AND MAYBE WE WILL HAVE SOME LUCK WITH RAY AND DIXIE ON THE BENCH. I THINK THIS WILL BE A REAL GOOD CROSS.SHOULD BE SOME REAL NICE PUPS. AFTER NEXT WEEK DOLLY WILL BE IN DECATUR AL. WITH ME AND WHEN SHE COMES IN HEAT IT WILL ONLY BE A 20 MILE DRIVE TO GET HER BRED TO JIMMY.
