hi matt it was great talking to you the other night. i've be on vacation the past week chasing the bears around. i'm not much on taking pictures, i'm afraid i'd loose my camera caring in in the woods. most pictures i have some one else took. i'll see if dave can get some next time he comes. for sure molly and skipper are good ones. mike has slew, skippers littermate, here he is another good one. if some one would like to see stinger offspring go on big game i'd be happy to show them in the woods. good hunting dennis

Thanks Dennis,
I hope Molly and Skipper bring you many hunts and reproduce for you.I like a hound that gets up and push a track and it sounds like they do very well.I really like the way Mike`s Slew Foot is put up and I understand that Don H. has a real good looking male out of Stinger and Lou.You guys have done real good with your hounds. I`m sure someone will want to see them go they are still very young and good to see their making a name for them selves.

hunting

hi matt the 2 mike's and i had another good outing today. the hounds are starting to get into shape. but all good things come to and end, i have to return to work monday so the bear will get a rest, for a couple of days. mike got some pictures of molly and skipper. if they turn out perhaps he will post them. good hunting dennis

I just came in from a nice hunt with Ted Larger with King and Smoke.King is a littermate to Legend and Smoke is off of Tree Daddy and Fly.I only took Country,we had a real nice hunt we looked at 7 coon out of the 4 trees we made.Ol King don`t take a back seat either he would be really tough if hunted hard for a month.Smoke looked good on two trees he went the distance and treed real hard he is going to make a hound if Ted can get him in the timber.we didn`t start till it was 2 am. the best time to hunt,no traffic.
Dennis,Mike has a good balance of our hounds he is pushing.I sure hope they workout for him.I hope you had a great vacation,its hard to go back sometime`s.
Ruby is in heat and i`m thinking about breeding her to either tree Daddy or Legend i still have a couple days to make up my mind.

My good friend Dave Smith called and said his bear hound Bawler was hit and killed while running a bear this morning and a real nice female out of Stinger and Upsons Cookie was hit at the same time and Killed.Bawler was out of Spot and Upson`s Coco. Dave said while this happend his Katie out of Stinger X Cookie and his young Barker male out of Stinger and Lou went on and treed the raskle.I feel for Dave and Chad we all know when we turn loose you never know what can happen.I know Stinger and the Upson bred females have reproduced some very nice hounds.'

hi matt i sure am sorry to hear about dave's loss. bawler was a good one for sure. it's real hard to replace a good dog. even worse losing 2 at the same time. skipper started into heat now. i'm planning on breeding her to smokey. check your email i sent some pictures. dennis

Dennis,

I received your pictures nice looking hounds.I can pick a Stinger hound just about anywhere. Skipper hasn`t changed much just way bigger. I just bred Ruby to Tree Daddy today,this is the cross i`ve been waiting for since Mike bred Diamond to Stinger.alot of good hounds out of Stinger and Diamond.I was going to get some pictures,the battries are on charge as I type.
Ruby was going to go to Legend,(BUT)Tree Daddy isnt getting any younger and Legend is getting a few females bred to him finally.I hope you get a good litter out of Skipper and Smokey.good luck.

How is everything down your way? I hope Ruby catches for you, those should be some dandy pups with the whole package.

I had a great hunt with Dennis and Don in wisconsin, lots of great runs and very good dog work from all the young hounds, Dennis has a whole truck load of very nice young bear dogs. Slew Foot sure fired well on bear and showed some real potential to be a nice bear hound, wish we had more bear here in my area. I picked up Slew's littermate brother over there, I think he has more leg on him then slew! I'll be putting some serious time on him this summer. Angel has just come out of heat, so back to the woods for her, she is another nice young female out of stinger and lou. The Slew and Diamond pups look great and are all business for sure, it doesn't take them long to get gone, I picked them up a half mile away this morning after I let them out to run! Mike

Mike,i`m glad you had a good time with Dennis and Don.sounds like you had some nice runs and seen some bear. I`m glad you picked up Slews littermate those two hounds should turn out to be great start dogs for you.I bet Angel is ready to get out.I`ll get Ruby and Tree Daddy hooked up again.

Ruby-

Updated picture of Ruby after I bred her to Tree Daddy today.She is Stinger all the way and one of my favorites off of Stinger.This cross will double up my old Hank. You guys wanting something off of Tree Daddy and a Stinger female well its in mother nature`s hands now.

Ken,

she weighs around 55 lbs she is a slender build good running gears.a little on the hyper side.I like this cross looks outstanding on paper,she can jump like a lion.I have anothe female thats suppose to get bred to Tree Daddy next weekend she is out of Stinger also same build.

Was you talking bout my Female yes she looks alot like that pic
HONEY is built alot like her and let me tell ya she dont leave much ground under her feet (FAST) running dog and very tree minded I havent had any of my hounds out much in this heat and now HONEY is in heat dont want no mistakes
BEAN is doing a real FINE job too VERRY COON AND TREE minded dog

Thanks for the calls I really think this will be a good cross.pups will be due mid sept.and will be ready to go before Thanksgiving. a little time till then.I wanted to get a few pups on the ground out of Tree Daddy.not many female`s out their out of him.

hi matt she sure is one fine looking female , nice pedigree should be some great pups. i put smokey in the pen with skipper yesterday, hope she has a big litter of stinger grandpups. i have 6 spoken for so i won't book any more until they are born. i hope to keep at least one myself. dave and i had a real exciting bear chase this morning, almost had the bear in the truck with me at one point. they were coming hard to the road. when i got out the bear was about 15 feet from my door coming to the road. all my young dogs are doing better than i expected. good hunting dennis

With Tree Daddy turning 8 back in June and Stinger just turned 7 in july. so they are getting a little age on them.I`m concentrating on getting pups out of Tree Daddy with my Stinger females for now.I`ve been getting calls people wanting to get something out of Stinger.I`m not gonna breed to him until next year so if anybody has a female in heat his pups are maiking the right kind.this may be a good time to breed to him.

Stinger x Lou

Matt, I sure like my Angel female from stinger and lou, I've had her in the woods the last few nights and she is on fire! She is turning into a real nice track dog and a very hard tree dog. I'll have to take a camera with me one of these nights. I have 2 super nice stinger grandpups from dennis' cross, there are some good looking and acting pups, I can hardly waite to put them in the timber. I have a couple pups left from my cross with Slew and Diamond, everyone that has come to look at them, said it was the hardest time the ever had choosing a pup, they are all so nice! HI MIke, I talked to Matt yesterday and he thought we should get together and hunt sometime soon. I live in Kalkaska Michigan and know some good places to hunt in the UP if you are up to a hunt sometime soon. I have a couple of hounds from Matt, but mostly hunt walkers. I have been looking for good smokey river bred bear dogs and Matt has hooked me up. I am hunting a Upson bred dog named Roxy. Maybe you know the dog? She is just getting started and seems to have a bear dog qualities. Anyway, would love to see your hounds in action.

Hey Matt, I am hitting the woods in the am again and will take more videos if I get a chance.

Rick,I sure would like to see you guys get together for a hunt.Mike is a great guy to hunt with I`m sure you two would have some good hunts.

I just had a call from Don H.he said his Cookie and Stinger female is doing good for him.It looks like Stinger is turning out some top notch bear hounds.I really thought he would be a great reproducer on bear and coon and now with some age on his offspring they are speaking for him.I want to continue to Thank You guys who believed in Stinger and are hunting his offspring.hopefully we`ll get a few more out of him.

Matt, Angel looked good last night. I took a few guys from southern michigan out for a hunt, well the hounds struck a cold track from the truck and went real DEEP, and treed with the coon, it didn't take them long either. They must have treed next to a coyote den, because the yotes were right in on the tree with them. Well I have a little medicine for them yotes tonight, Slew and Diamond will be back there tonight and we'll see how them yotes like being harrassed! Mike

Honey and Tree Daddy, Honey is another Stinger female she can flat out move on track,she has rigged out of the truck on coon has a great nose with a real nice mouth on her.

Wow Does it get any BETTER ?????
Honey is a young dog that can FLAT MOVE A TRACK.......Nice mouth and hard chop on tree I think I made the best choice with Tree Daddy ti sire this litter he has really produced some real hounds in the last few years.
Matt has really got it going on at MOSQUITO CREEK!!!!!!
Ill keep everyone up dated on how she is comming along with pups
