Breaker! Breaker!! Any bear hunters on the channel? I need a 12 pack.... of hounds that is! I have a fresh track going over here on Dry Fork just above the first low water bridge... Its a nice one...

Bear track

I figured the bear would stir last night. We searched all of elk mountain and kumbravow national forest for tracks yesterday and never found anything. I'm sure roofus pups would excel well on bear I might try to get a pup off Hom to bear hunt if the opportunity comes to purchase a pup.

Back before I got into Coon Hounds real heavy I used to do alot of grouse hunting with my favorite English Setter named Jumper. He was probably the smartest hound I believe I ever seen. He handled like a dream all you need was a whistle and hand motions. I miss him alot...

Bub its funny you say that I was looking at some old coon hunting pictures from way before my time and you would be surprised at the bird dogs you see in the pictures... SeveraL OL tymers used Airedales too

They are two pups out of Roofus that have made excellent bear hounds. Champion Lakelands Bawlie and Plain English's Lakeland Chopper they are littermates and belong to the same guy. He loves them. I have some future plans of a cross or two targeting bear hunters. I have added you to my buddy list so when that happens I will notify you.

P.S.
Sometimes to find a track you have to get out of the truck Lol.. The one I posted was a good ways away from the nearest road.

Alright thanks. Yeah they don't have to cross roads all the time especially in that big country. There's a lot of roads over here where I always hunt so we always find one crossing roads if they stir lol.

Yeah I know they cross the Bergoo Rd all the time me and my wife have seen several on our way to work and coming home. And they are miles of roads up by the house here at Leatherwood Rd as well...

Happy New Year to all and good bye 2012

A sad day today @ Plain English Kennel I found Roofus dead in his Kennel. He had been sick and even spent a few days in the hosiptial. I thought he was gonna be ok but I guess the good Lord had other plans for him. He will be sadly missed in a huge way. This will incourage me to push Blu and Sue in the hunts. 2012 has been a tough year for us. 2013 can't come quick enough.

Sorry to hear this JR, I found his great grandmother in her kennel at only eight years old. She was one of the best that I ever followed. It's hard to lose them at any age. Good luck with his off spring and I hope you have better luck in the coming year.----------Kenny-----------

Although it is very sad and heart breaking day that I found my best freind and family member dead in his kennel . He will be greatly missed. But his pups live on along with many pics videos and Memories.
Thanks Dave Haugh for putting such a fine hound in my kennel. I will forever remember the legacy of ROOFUS...

I am so sorry to hear about Roofus' early death. He was a coon dog that any hard hunter would have loved to follow. I believe he could have made a much bigger impact on the English breed in the stud pen. He will be missed.
