Dave, I bought Stormy, Dan's littermate sister and Corky got her to me yesterday. I used to own Il Mighty Blue Jake as a young hound and hunted him hard for a while before I sold him and he ended up in Illinois. He was a good one. Did the cross out of your Spanky gyp and Dan turn out a few good cooners? I had a couple out of Spanky years ago and they were nice. Take Care. [/QUOTE

Kerry Rooks still has Dan in GA. Its a shame more females haven't been bred to him. He has a lot to offer. A pedigree full of good reproducers [its in his jeans to do the same] He has a above average mouth, good clean tree dog, on the wood no jump no chew. and will share a tree with anything. He knows how to stay away from one that is aggressive. He splits and holds pressure, and is independent. When I first got him, I was hunting on crusty snow and a full moon. I don't think he had ever been hunted much on snow. The first week he missed bad. but with the lead strap on his butt on the slicks, and fur in his mouth on the good ones, he got to be about 70 to 80% here. I think 80% is good here. What that means to me is on 20 trees you see 16 coon, or if you don't have 16 you count the iffy tree as slick. [It is what it is. and if your fooling yourself your the fool] I owned Dan twice I went and hunted with Kerry for a week and left Dan in GA. The fowling year I went to Kerrys and hunted a week, And Dan came home with me again. Kerry wanted him ended up with him again. I going to post peds of females that I know of that where bred to him. take care Dave
