Chance of rain or snow everyday this wk starting tomorrow...think I'll be spending time at the casinos.

Spent time on my horse, Jas, the last 2 days. And took the dogs out last night again. They treed in 2 big pines that we couldn't find anything in. In between trees, they went out of hearing distance. Chuck went after them and I went for the car. Just as I got to the car someone shot. When I found Chuck, he had Dandy and said the shot was only about 40-50 yds from us. While we were loading Dandy, the guy that shot came up and said he shot at coyotes. Chuck really didn't believe him so we got Ruby and got out of there.

That north wind is cold. It is 42 outside but feels like 22. I sighted my AR 15 in the other day and shooting a group about the size of a dime at 50 yards. It is deadly. I am ordering 4 boxes of hollow points now for future use.

45 and raining here. Woke up with a headache and can't seem to get started today.

Sorry for your loss, HB. Its a tough decision to make, but its the best one when they're suffering.

Rex, Glad your relatives didn't get seriously injured in the wreck. We got hit by a semi almost 2 yrs ago, I still get a little nervous when one comes up besides us, especially, if we're on the Harley.

Chuck wanted a new call for Christmas. We have $400 credit at a sporting goods store so I told him to use it toward the call. He said he needs a new gun if he gets the call. He thought for coyote he should get a 223, but I talked to a guy thay suggested a 204. So he's put everything on hold until he can make up his mind. Do u guys/gals have any suggestions?

Ridge, for yotes I have a 243 Remington 700,couldnt be happier with its yote killing abilities ..best shot to date is 528 yards on a yote..I had never shot at yote that far with it.so I don't know who was more surprised when I hit him ,,the yote or me...I stuck the empty casing in the ground and walked out to the truck and got my wheel measure.it marked it off at 528 yards..300 yard shots are pretty easy..

Rex, does the 243 put a huge hole in them? He has a Browning 243 under the bed in the box yet. He won it at a gun raffle yrs ago. Maybe he just wants a new gun 😉

Ridge,it depends on what style of bullet you use..i started with a soft tipped bullet and it did some damage.i went to a harder tip .it expands a lot less...the ones I use now make a exit hole about the size of a dime..i will say this the 223 rounds are cheaper to shoot.....

Hello everyone. Been running them beagles every day for I don't know how long. Don't know which is going to give out first me or the dogs. I know there are darn few bunnies. If I get up 3 a day I think I have had a good day. Have'nt shot any, just enjoy listening to them. Got a 5 month old pup circleing by himself but still a pair of boots from a rabbit dog.
Can you even sell them coons Rex?

I wish I could still coon hunt. I miss it a lot. I hear you guys talking about all the hunting you are doing and remember the times I hunted all the time. I did not think I would end my hunting at a early age. 68 year ols is to early. Guys have fun and enjoy while you have the health to do it. You never know what is around the corner.
