Chuck's buddy that was going to trap beaver with him after he got back from a cruise, was suppose to come over today to go set traps. Instead he came over to tell him he was too sick and was going home. So I went with him. We got 5 traps set. I got stuck in the mud and fell on my right knee walking in and on the way out my left knee gave out and I fell again. That time, I hit my arm on a sharp little tree trunk that the beavers had chewed off. I thought I was going to enjoy the day on my horse....instead I'm spending the rest of it in the house watching Judge Judy with the dogs ....feeling cold, bruised and broken.

My knee hurt so bad this Am, I could barely walk so I didn't go ck traps. Chuck brought home my 50# beaver! Yesterday, he said I could pick out 2 places to put traps and he didn't like either place I picked. But my trap had the beaver in it☺

Has anyone heard from Rex? He hasn't posted since he said he had the flu. Chuck hasn't posted lately either. ..hope they're ok.

We aren't selling them, HB. Chuck met a guy (has a camp about a mile from here) while bobcat trapping a couple of yrs ago, they've become pretty good buddies. He asked Chuck to trap beaver with him last yr because he's in his late 70's and doesn't get around that well. He wants to get a beaver coat made for his girlfriend so were giving him the beavers we catch. He got sick and went home, but is coming back tomorrow. When they get enough beavers for her coat, I want to get a pr of mittens made...might take another yr or 2.

Good luck with ur doctor appts, Chuck. Hope your better soon. Nice hearing from u.

HB, maybe u should have tied the cow first. How old was her calf? We raised a calf yrs ago. He was only a few days old when we got him. I held him while Chuck banded him. We bottle fed him and treated him like a pet....then we ate him. Told Chuck "no more" that's too hard.

Guess were all getting this crappy weather. It was in the 70's here yesterday and the temps been falling. Windy and snow flurries here now.
Hope ur felling better, Rex.
Its always nice to see deer after hunting season. We saw 11 a few times since it went out. Tuesday night, I was going out our rd and there were 11 across the rd and about that many on our side of the rd.
