Its 52° here, but cloudy. Chuck came home with another beaver this AM. Took it out of my trap...again! We have until the end of the month to get 5 more beavers. Hopefully, that will be enough. They said it would take 16 to make a coat.

Rex, Hope we can get enough beavers this season to get it made. I told Chuck if I liked it, we may have to catch enough to get one made for me. He didn't say "no". I have a coon coat, we had made in the 80's, but I out grew it Back then a friend of my sister's had a red fox coat made and my friend had a coyote coat made. A woman had a coon coat on at the Sportsman's show in Warren this yr. It was a short one, guess our friend wants a longer one made with the beavers. Chuck thought full length, but I don't think 16 beavers would make a full length. My coat took 16 coon and its thigh length. How many muskrats did the guy need for a coat?

Windy and raining here tonight. Suppose to have highs in the low teens over the wkend I'm ready for summer. Except I keep reading articles on how bad the ticks are going to be this yr. Some of my friends are posting on FB that they're finding them on their horses and dogs already!

Wind is nasty here today. Pgh has wind advisory posted up to 50 mph. Chuck left the barn shed door open, he said my saddle rack was blown over. I have cordura skirt and fenders on my saddle so it only weighs about 20 lbs, but that's a first.

I bought a used Hereford for my son when he was 11. It was just too heavy. I sold it and bought a Wintec. It was a synthetic saddle, too. I bought my first horse saddle in 1974. Its a Simco, but I haven't used it for yrs. I have 2 Arabian bar Big Horns now that I use and probably 3 or 4 more dry rotting and taking up space in my tack shed. I'm kind of a horse tack hoarder.

Nice hearing from u Chuck, I thought maybe u found some gold and was too busy spending it to check in.
