I took Daniel out with his sister Hannah. It was the first time that he has been out in 4 weeks. He picked right back up where he left off. We treed 4 coons.

Cabin hunt sounds great, but Southern Redbone Days is that weekend. When is deer season over and when is coon season over?

deer season over Jan. 7th. coon season is never over but you cant kill after March 10th nor can you hunt national forest after that...the devil made me put the cabin hunt on that date.

We had a pretty good hunt last night. I had the pleasure to hunt with GRNTCH Adams shotgun red(littermate brother to crow), we treed 4 times and found 3 coons.

What a night. I hate my hunting. I had to go between and behind houses twice last night to get Daniel and Hannah off a tree. It is hard to find a coon when you can't turn your light on.

Bring me one of them. My hunting sucks too. And I don't have a dog and I need one.

Had the chance to host Mike Jarboe for a hunt this week. He came down on Monday night and we hunted his Sally female, Rhonda and Hammer. We treed a nice boar coon and called it a night. The goal for this trip was not coon but bear. We hunted Tuesday and Wednesday and Mike was able to get a taste of bear hunting in the mountains of Virginia. I had three dogs cold trail a track for 6 hours before they jumped. Those three did and outstanding job getting up with this bear. One of the trail dogs is a red female out of Lexus x Rowdy. After jumping the bear Abby split off and brought another one to the road. Mike thought he was going to have a heart attack as we packed dogs into her. We left that race and walked into the other tree which was a mile off the road on private. Mike was able to get a nice video of a nice bear they had treed. Just wish it would have not been on private land. The other one treed as well but we chose not to harvest itas it was right at dark. Long day, lots of action late in the day and some good snacks. On Wednesday we did not find a track.
It was nice to have Mike down to share a hunt. Pastor Make and a friend of his joined in as well.
Hey Jabo.....This aint no coonhunt Sister!!!!!

Winnie and Wilma would both make good models. They will pose for pictures. That coon looks as big as Winnie.

It was a big joker for down here, especially for a wma coon. I thought I was going to have to borrow Wendy to teach Winnie how to tree a coon but after a attitude adjustment she went about 700 yards and fell treed.

Sounds like no one. I made 2 den trees tonight and got soaking wet. Weatherman said it wasn't going to rain until 10 pm but he lied.

Went last night and didn't tree a thing, she found a dead coon and treed beside it but other than that not a single tree. Mr Garmin said she traveled 6.5 miles around us, she hunted every creek slough and lake bed she could. I guess they weren't moving at all last night.

Be thankful that she hunted around you and didn't go 2 miles in one direction like Boone does. The 2 tracks Wendy and Daniel worked were pitiful. Coons moved in the afternoon and then went to bed. They knew that it was going to storm. Deer hunter buddy of mine said that he watched a coon out wandering around at 4 pm.
