GrCh. Weister Creek Lace
From Grant Noeske about Lace.
Lace was out of Orland Steinmetz's Star female (I believe that was her name) and Dual Gr. Ch. Duane's Red Oak Sting, who was out of Gr. Ch. Nt. Ch. Noeske's Red Oak Boss and a Finley River bred gyp my dad and I owned named Ch. Mears' Finley River Bitty. Bitty drowned at about 14 months old in 18 inches of water while hunting (ridiculous....because she could've stood up and walked out). She was deathly afraid of water and I think she paniced when she fell through some ice. The litter Sting was out of made some very, very nice coondogs (Sting, Smokey and Rap all should have made Dual Gr. Ch.....and were good track dogs). Rap was eaten by an alligator in Louisiana at about 4 years old and Smokey lost his voice...and we sold him to a guy in Iowa who never competition hunted. Should have kept them all right here in the area. Boss was the best coondog I ever followed on a regular basis. He'd get a bit ouchy once in a while, but if you wanted to tree coon anytime of year (January with snow and cold)....he was your dog. He could flat move a track, was tough as nails and was very, very acccurate.
Anyway, I won best of breed at Walker Days with Lace in about 1995, but lost best of show to a Black & Tan. She was sold to Orland that day. She was first owned by Duane, then my dad and I...and then Orland. Not sure where she went after that. Best looking show dog I ever got to handle.
