No luck at Winter Classic. Vegas treed a coon by himself, but other dogs treed two. Luke had a den in first twelve minutes, then whole cast stood there watching our trackers for hour and 48 minutes. Luke's sister got a cast when Friday night.

Luke had a female visitor this week. Bred Chris Golden's Blue Bell female. ( Utchman x Smokey River ) Hopefully will have a basket full of pups at the end of April.

Cole Sullivan in Georgia and Klaydrick Proctor in Iowa, both sent videos this week of their Luke pups doing a nice job on several coon. Both are females out of different litters. Hope to see them in the winners circle soon!

I'm going to try a Mr. Jack story!

I took Vegas out for a hunt tonight, it's still hot her, 86 degrees when I turned loose at 8:45. I sent Vegas down a ditch, that runs into the back of a cove on the lake. Vegas struck at 175 yards and treed at 235 yards. It had been 1 minute and 24 seconds since I cut him loose. I walked in, looked at the coon in a tree leaning out over the lake. Petted Vegas up and called it a night. 84 degrees when I got back to the truck!

I've been getting Luke out a little more, to get him in shape for the Fall Roundup. Tonight Michelle and I took him out for a run on a Forrest service road. We had covered 2 miles when he swung off the side of the road, opened twice and came treed. We walked in and looked at three kitten coon. We ran him a little over a mile, when he left the road again. He opened behind a little pond and I could tell it was a bad track. Luke worked the track 300 yards through the section of timber and out into a big cut over. At around 550 yards the track picked up and he started running it pretty good. Luke went through the cut over into another section of timber and treed at .62. Michelle and I drove around to an old logging road and got to within 250 of him. This time he had a good sized coon, up a huge oak tree. Not to bad for his second night out since early June.

Ch.Nt.Ch.'PR' Williams Blue Vegas (Luke x Shelly) had a good weekend. He finished to show Champion, got a Nt.ch win, qualified for the TOC and won King of Hunt at the Elbert Vaughn Memorial hunt.
