NO HUNTING ALLOWED

Yea as soon as I felt the pop in my foot when I landed a lot of better ideas on how to get that stump up the hill went through my mind at that instant, but, To Late. If you look in the first picture you will see I had a rope around it and I did have it pulled up as close to me as it would get but it slid back when I gassed on the 4 wheeler and that was my Doom. As you can see in this picture of my ugly feet I won't be putting it into a Work Boot or my Hunting Boots anytime soon. I have kept ice on it since the accident happened and it continues to swell. Can't put any weight on it what so ever so will be trying to get an appointment first of this week with an Ortho Dr. and have a MRI done to see if Ligament is torn completely a loose requiring surgery or what. So mad at myself right now because I can't take being laid up and a burden on anyone because I can't do for myself. Told Beverly for years I needed a 4 wheel drive Kubota with a front end loader. My week would have been a lot better if I had that but when you don't own a farm or a single cow its hard to justify a purchase like that. I'm sure by the time the DR's are done billing me a tractor like that might look cheap upside their Bills! I put myself in a lot of situations in that river after logs where a lot of bad things could happen just like we all do out there at night hunting our hounds. But that's what we love to do and if it gets me killed one day a lot of people will wonder why I was doing something that to them just looks stupid but to me its my life, my love for the River or my Hound and I will Die with NO REGRETS.

SINKER HOOK UP

This is a picture of my new business cards proof. The grooved up log in the background is the one I pulled last week. The only thing I told them to do different is on the Chainsaw Bar to the left put SINKER on it and the one to the right put CYPRESS on it. They working on my table cloths now. I want them to look like a Sandbar with the River snaking down the middle with prints of my pictures from pulling and sawing logs on each side of the river so the customer sees not only the product for sale on the table but the pictures that tell the story. Really excited about this if only I can get my foot healed up. Went to the Specialist today and he said its messed up for sure and he thinks I dislocated some toes when I landed but they popped back in place and also have a Ligament messed up but don't know how bad without MRI which they wouldn't do today because Insurance won't approve and pay for same day. They make you drag your hurting butt back and pay another co-pay which I was ticked about. Was going back at 8am in the morning and they called and said to make sure I brought $ 1,406.00 bucks with me because that's how much my part was. I couldn't believe it. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and pay good money every week and my company does also then to have them tell me its going to cost this much more out of my pocket for a MRI is just BULL. DR said it would take two hours to do it the way he wants it done. Said he can usually look at X rays and the foot and tell just what is wrong but this isn't the case with me. He pushed my foot up straight and told me to hold it and when he let go it just flops down. I asked about surgery and he said its very rare they have to do surgery so that decided it for me. Save my money, stay home and stay off it until it gets better. That's all he would tell me to do after the MRI anyway. After we told him that he said come back in two weeks. By then he said it will be a lot better or No better and I will have to have the MRI and probably Surgery. So we will see how it goes.

Bo is doing great and I used the crutches to get out to his pen when we got home and pet and talk to my Buddy. I stopped by the others pens and petted them too. Bo is fine with me loving on all of them except BAM, he gets jealous when I pet BAM and raises cane until I quit. Its Funny to see! I don't guess I will have any good hound pictures or stories for a little while so hope yaw can put up with me checking in and whining every now and then. Beverly probably done heard enough!

Steve, I’m glad to see you have the courage to pursue your sinker business. I have often thought about starting my own business, but have been too scared to make that leap. The oil refinery has provide me with a good income, but I think I will try when I retire. Glad to hear Bo is doing good also. Take care of that foot, it would be hard to follow them dogs without it working right.

Foot

Roger its still about the same. I'm hopping around on these crutches but mostly setting on the couch. I have a LOT of time to think about what a dumb move it was trying to get that stump up that bank with the 4 wheeler. But that's how I have always lived, see something that needs doing or I want out of that river and I'm gonna get it done, one way or another. Hope all is good up your way and you and Thunder are treeing a few, Take Care.

Tommy some people don't look at my move as Courage, they think I'm crazy to want to leave a good job that pays a good salary and provides a company truck with a fuel card, cell phone and lap top. Maybe I am but I have had enough of the younger generation LSU Prep Boys that bought this company out 3 years ago. No respect for the older generation has made it tough for me to stick around. Hard for me to bite my tongue these days. I think they have got wind of me wanting to get this new business rolling as I got a few ugly emails yesterday about my pay will stop after next week if my foot isn't better and I'm back at work. In 17 years of working for this company I never been threatened like that. My reply wasn't nice so I might be unemployed already. If so then that's the path I will walk. I have felt a pull on me for two years to get away from them and walk my on way. Looks like the time is NOW.

Squirrel Hunt

Steve, I sure wish you could have been with us. We sure had a good time and I know you would have enjoyed it. We needed a good shooter along with us. I have already seen you shoot two coons out with one shot and I saw all those birds y'all killed so I know you can hit a Squirrel. How is that foot doing and how is Bo doing, and by the way anytime your wife wants to get rid of you for a while LOL. You tell her where I live and come on. Take care.

Windy

That's a great picture Mr. Jack and you are right, I would have loved to have been with yaw. But I can't brag about my shooting ability on those Quail, I think I got my sorry shells the same place your Squirrel Hunters got theirs, lol! My foot isn't doing so great, if I stay completely off of it and keep ice on it with it propped up it feels better and swelling goes down just a little. But, if I put Brace Boot on and use the crutches to get out of this dang house and go talk to the hounds some then it swells up bad and hurts like heck. All that blood rushes into it with it down and it becomes a throbbing pain with every beat of my heart. BO on the other hand is doing Great. He's going to have a long ugly scar but other than that he is making a full recovery. Bawls at dark him and Bam wanting to go hunting and it kills me that I can't hardly hop to the bathroom much less cut a hound a loose. Nothing I can do though but stay off it until it heals. Go back to the DR March 1st and hope I'm walking by then and swelling is down where I can get a shoe on my foot. Beverly's been good to me even though I can be a Pain, at least I admit it! Keep telling her all the things I will get done on that Honey Do List she has But she has to get me well first. Hoping that Lie keeps her hanging in there, lol! Take Care Mr. Jack and I will catch up to you soon.

COON HUNTERS WIFE

MR. Jack one of the things I do to pass the time while I'm laid up is shopping on Ebay. I do a search on Coons and just browse through all the things that pop up. Well the other day these Sterling Silver earrings with Coon Tracks on them popped up and since Beverly has been doing such an awesome job listening to me complain all day everyday about this foot, I bought them for her. I told her not every woman has a pair of earrings with Coon Tracks on them, Only a Lucky Girl married to an Ole Coon Hunter!

PEBBLES and BLADE

Picture of my two youngest, or as I call them sometimes, THING 1 and THING 2. Pebbles and Blade. I couldn't stand being in the house anymore so yesterday I hopped on the crutches out of the house and onto the 4 wheeler. Yea, the same one that threw me. Always was told if you get thrown by a horse you got to get back on and same goes for a 4 wheeler. We rode down to the Rock Bar and let the pups run off some energy and Beverly gathered me up a few sticks and I had fun setting on the 4 wheeler tossing them into the river and watching Pebbles beat Blade Every Time. She is Fast. Don't know if anything I have here in the Kennel could beat her. Its going to be a while before I try and get her or Blade started as I really need to put my time in Bam and have him further along before I put another in the woods. But I have fun with them as they are growing up and still plenty other things they need to learn before they meet Ole Rocket.

Mason and his PUPS

Thanks Mr. Jack and Jeremy. Yea Blade is growing up. He has about caught up with Pebbles. Mason growing too. He got to stay at the River today and take care of his Paw Paw. We have Very Bad Weather coming in about lunch so his School was shutting down at lunch and he didn't go, just came on over here about 7am when his Mom went to work. We rode the 4 wheeler down to the Rock Bar and Pebbles found a plastic bottle and brought it to Mason. You can see the bottle above his head in the first picture after he threw it and in bottom picture Pebbles is in the river bringing it back to him. Blade did beat her once today but that was only because she didn't see Mason throw it but Blade did and had a big head start. Mason had a blast the little while we stayed on the Rock Bar and Paw Paw and the pups did too.

PEBBLES

Yes it is, the one fetching the sticks and bottles. My BO which is half brother to Zero did the same thing at a young age. She is very smart like him and wants to please. Very loveable hound that's has lots of energy. She is Very fast and agile. Glides over the ground like a deer, effortlessly. I haven't shown her a coon and she hasn't took off trailing anything around the house yet. Still to young and lots of play in her but love the other signs I see and have no doubt when she matures and the time is right she will come on quick. Big mouth on her too.

HEALING UP

Thanks Guys. Woke up this morning and something felt different. Took me a few seconds to realize that it was my foot, wasn't hurting near as bad as it has been the past 12 days. I got up and put a little weight on it and limped around and all day I did the same wearing the brace boot and Not using the crutches. I finally believe I am going to get better and soon. The swelling has gone down a good bit too. Back to DR Tuesday but if I keep feeling better each day might cancel that appointment. Be back in the woods and the river SOON.

All the days I been sitting on the couch with the bum foot I have been shopping on Ebay and buying a bunch of different things that I think will sell good with my Sinker Cypress. Been buying lots of Coon Figurines, you know, those cute things that women like to buy and set on the shelf. A shelf made of Sinker Cypress of course. I will be selling the live edge board for the shelf, the shelf brackets of different styles that are real nice AND, the cute stuff you put on that shelf. Well, the mailman delivered 10 boxes to the house today that wouldn't go in the mailbox. Some very old cast iron legs for making a Sinker Cypress Coffee Table and a bunch of those Coon Figurines and a couple other things. But, I have TWO PROBLEMS. Beverly and Mason! They Love everything I bought and Beverly went to putting the stuff on our shelves. I told them to wait a minute, that's stuff for reselling to make a buck or two and Mason replied, " Not this little puppy Paw Paw he's to cute and I want him" Beverly says, " But this Coon was hand painted in Italy in 1977 and this one in England in 1966 and it's Chalk Ware, do you know how hard it is to find stuff like this? " Yes I know, Dear, I spent many a hour on this couch and the computer ' Finding " that stuff that I thought I was going to sell to the women while they talked their men into buying the Sinker Cypress shelf with the fine shelf brackets, lol! I'm going to have a yard sale when Beverly and Mason aren't here, I will let yaw know the date, lol!

Thanks Terry! Will try that tomorrow night. Was looking for your Thread the other day to let you know I'm trying to get Stormy up to Mr. Ed's soon so he can get her on to you and a date with Boomer but couldn't find your Thread but then saw the one the guys started looking for the same thing I was. It is a shame all the negativity in this sport and especially among our on and seems it's a lot worse when your at the top like you and Boomer are. Hate they got under your skin bad as they did but I completely understand why you did what you did but I'm like the other guys, miss the talk and pictures of the young guns out of Boomer. Enjoyed reading your thread everyday and especially enjoy hunting one of Boomers Sons. I was out there with Bam this evening trying to explain to him that it won't be to much longer and him and I will be after them again. He is going to make a good one, no doubt in my mind. The only other pup I have had that was as mature as he is at such a young age and had that hunting desire at 4 months old like they were 18 months old was that Rain pup I got from Danny. Yaw keep doing what yaw doing and let the Haters Hate On. Yaw producing Coonhounds and making History, all they doing is Babbling. Take Care and talk to you soon.
