PGH is calling for wind gusts 50+mph tonight into tomorrow. Chuck came home this Am from checking beaver traps and said my gelding was out. I told him to get a pan of feed and I'd be right down. While I was putting on my boots, he said Dolly is out, too. That wasn't what I wanted to hear. It's hard to catch her in a stall! They were in the back of the barn. I had the feed pan and a long lead rope. Couldn't get the rope near them, but they were following me as long as they could nibble out of the pan. Got to the front corner of the barn and Chuck hadn't locked 7 in the barn so she came out the door just as the horses were heading to the shed door, as soon as they saw the dog, they took off toward the road. I thought about getting my 6mm, they must be mindreaders because they turned around and went to the back of the barn again. This time, I had 7 locked up and they followed me again to the front and went into the shed and their stalls. Chuck had to replace a couple of insulators. Didn't see any booboos on the horses, the fencer was working so not sure what happened, just hope it doesn't happen again.
Rex, I saw coon avgd $12.? at the auction. We missed the first fur pickup, going to send what we have to Canada next wk.
I can't believe u can get that kind of $ for work horses. I wonder what a Budweiser Clydesdale is worth? My friend has a Gypsy Vanner X for sale for $7,500. She's not getting any calls, another friend thinks her Gypsy is worth $35,000.
My Jas was a $25 stud fee and I wouldn't trade them horses.
