Yep...it's good stuff Scott, I was tickled to hear that she decided to cut loose also. Gun is a real nice prospect and I'm really looking forward to getting him out and about with Yank and Cherry. We'll probably split Yank and Cherry and put Slim and Gun with one or the other and then switch them around so they get more used to different styles. Yank is pretty open on the track and he's about as mild mannered as a dog can get so is a real good hound to put these youngsters with. We want to give Cherry a lot of hard work starting out because I suppose she's due in heat around April so if we don't get her out and about before that, then it will put her off until late April or May. I don't mind so much I guess, once the weather turns so we can get going, she'll get plenty of work.
Anyway, I get a kick out of these youngsters when they start to show that they want to participate and based off what I see with Gun, those pups from that Ace and Cherry cross are good ones in a lot of ways.
I'm hoping the weather leaves us alone but I saw a lot of deer out in the fields during broad daylight today so they're giving us a warning that something is coming.
We're hoping to get back at it this weekend, at least with training but if I have to wade through another foot of snow...it's gonna have to melt first.

Unrealistic expectations are a roadblock to success, judge your dogs by what they are ready to give not by what you wish they'd do.
