late night hunt
I got home late tonight and decided to load up frog and haze again and hit some national forest. these are tough woods, especially when its in the lower 20's and it's after midnight when you start to hunt. I roaded them for a couple of miles with no strikes, then at the very end, they got struck by a creek and went straight up, up, up and over. I backed the truck up about two hundred yards to a spot I could park, got out and listened. I could hear them ok and they were still pushing pretty good. I got my gear on and about that time, I could hear a roar echoing off the mountains so I knew they had treed. It took me a little while to reach them but they had a HUGE pine. I knew the coon was there so I took some pics before I shined. It's been fun hunting ole haze. When I started shining, I saw at least 3 sets of eyes.....maybe 4. I had to go up the hill 40 yards just to see into the top of that tall pine.......actually hit the coon too.
A rare shot of Haze standing on the wood.
