I hunted dogs out of Lipper in the mid to late 80's . They were out of Lipper and females from Spring Creek Rock and Dehoneys Caddilac . I have gotten coons dogs that were pretty naturally straight smart good in the kennel and really cold nodes . Some would blow through the timber which was what was required back then and had incredible mouths and probably the best I had were from Cash . I wished I could find Cash blood concentrated now . I grew up in Marshall Texas and Lipper as a youngster sure made the older dogs around here look stupid . I don't know if he was broke but he would drop out of a hot race and tree a coon behind the others then go take their track away . He was a beast . I didn't walk to empties behind them . The modern dogs I think are easier to get treeing and probably the breed has improved but a shot of Lipper in the right modern females could be something special in the right hands

I had one that would wind them out of back of truck boat gosh he would destroy your ear drums and was beautiful . Tommy bought him from me and that was my last one . Felton Hall also lived near me so I was fortunate to have these great dogs in my back yard and I'll have to give Johnny McClanahan credit I've never seen him follow a bad one actually he set the standard he kept a good Lipper dog . I believe he had Lawyer Cade Rank and the list goes on . I'm hunting a big mouth male out of Drum . I own his Momma and she's a grand daughter of stylish clover that's suiting me and I have a pup out of him that will wake the dead lol . I love reading the post about Lipper and Law . I've trained raised several out of Law and they were lookers and plenty good . The one we kept one of his testicles didn't drop and required castrating and he's not quite the same now . I'm really intrigued about the Tree Blaster pups Conrad and Arlen have . I just know they will be special

I think whatever someone was exposed to forms their opinions . I'm sure that out of the 5000 pups Lipper produced some were duds and if you owned one that shaped your opinion maybe 500 were bad and that sounds terrible but 4500 may have suited people . People say Sacket Jr created the slick treeing and Rat attack but those studs produced the highest percentage in a registry that requires the coon to be seen lol . We can't have two sides of the argument stating how many champions did he produce them down Rat or Sacket and they were the highest lol . I've been told Trackman dogs were tree monsters and can't trail but I've had three of that blood that could trail 8 hour old tracks real ground dogs . I just think we have some amazing reproducers now . Coma / wipeout . Lipper Finley River lone pine clover . We are lucky to be Walker enthusiast today as you pretty much can't miss as long as you don't over praise these modern dogs at the tree . I think us older hunters make the tree monsters as we used to have to beg them to tree and now they are born treeing

You may want to reread my statement I was complimenting them .There is a double standard in existence today you can't trash Sacket and Rat when they were the highest reproducers in one statement then trash another cause the didn't throw as many champions .

Well just got in hunted with two of my long time friends one I don't get to hunt with much because of distance hunted with probly one of the nicest two yr old lipper bred X rattler bred females I have hunted with in a long time he was proud of her and I am proud for him we struck and treed three separate coons and had a wonderfull hunt she went home with him I wish him much luck with her. I knew they bred a deacon female to law but this female was out of a son of law and a deacon female but she is nice.

absolutely not true!! People caused the slick treeing!!! training habits!! prob is or was prople tried to train and not just hunt them!!! with cage/drags/put with other slick treeing idiots! Sacket dogs didn't /don't need trained!! you would train the lipper dogs!!!when sacket came along people tried to use the old training habits and that caused the slick treeing! A lot the hunters didn't know how to hunt those dogs and they would just ruin a lot of them!! or most They absolutely were tree dogs!! without that you have nothing!!! got to have the knowledge how to get it leveled out from track to tree!!!Pressure got to me and I had to reply!! lol
