Changes...

The big guy looks good Buck and I'm glad the papers came back and the process of getting Sally to Dual Grand Ch. has been completed, it's a great accomplishment and it sure makes the first generation look real good for ol' Moose.

The signs of change are showing in this part of the world and I thought I'd share a few pictures to show how striking the beauty of it all can be...only one hand can paint these pictures...the hand of God...

It was 2 below zero this morning when I headed out to work and a full moon was hanging on the horizon. It was dead calm and you could just about see the cold in the air...

The dogs are doing good and enjoying the change so far...it's the first snow many of them have seen so for at least a little while, they're enjoying it.

It's supposed to warm up into the mid 30s over the next several days so some of this snow will pack and I'd guess that we'll still get a night or two of hunting in somewhere along the line.

It's good to see some of the pictures that are showing up...some real nice young dogs across the country will make for a real interesting next couple of years.

I got a picture from Mark out west...it looks like the action is starting to heat up a little bit...some pictures will show up later...

Just got off the phone with an excited Mennonite boy.

He is pretty excited about getting the puppy. He said that it is not the least bit shy. He said it just ran around the house for about an hour before it came over and went to sleep on his leg. He was asking me if he had his second round of shots? The way he described him, he is going to be pretty dark.

Pup

That's good to hear Tim...he's got a nice pup with some of the best blood the breed has to offer and it's piled up deep. That male has the same black guard hair that ol' Rat had when he was that age and it turns to very dark red eventually so considering his size and color now, he's going to be a dandy.

I've got 4 females left and ready to go and I'm hoping to place them with folks who can give them a good shot and perhaps mix them with something strong from a different direction somewhere down the road...I love looking forward to those kinds of things.

I hope your surgery went OK Tim and that you're recovering in good shape...I suppose it won't be long and you'll be trotting through those flat lands like a youngster again

New season

Looks like a great time Mark...that's a pretty good start to the season no matter how you look at it.

I hope it keeps going with good snow and lots of tracks...looks like those young dogs are figuring it out at least a little bit...eh? Of course, I can see Boomer's old gray face in those pictures so I guess the old boy has a few tracks left in him and it's good to see.

I'll be looking forward to seeing how it goes the rest of the season.

Went to check out the new Wisconsin import

Wow, is he ever going to be dark!! Caleb is really tickled with it. He asked me what he should name it and I told him to just wait a few days and a good name will pop up.

Here's A Rabble Rouser Male you need to consider in your breeding program!

December 12, 2011

CH NITECH Ficken's Greatful Dead Red!

He has a lot to offer, quick Stike Dog, very well balanced, hard tree dog, well put together on looks. The thing that stands out with Red is he is a hard hard loud loud treedog!

He only has one litter on the ground, 4 1/2 month old!

Thanks John Dell

Red

He looks good John, I love to see them climb on the tree with the meat and look good doing it. Folks should give him a good look if they want to bring a good mix of blood into their program or perhaps purchase a pup that has a great foundation. No one can predict the future but we sure can look back on the past to help us get a good idea on what a future prospect can turn out to be.

Red has a great foundation and is a coon dog out of some real coon dogs...isn't that what folks are looking for?

Gotta love it

That's good stuff right there...I love to see it and hearing it is like being there for sure...well almost...

Those kinds of events are something that most folks just dream about but it's life worth living, just from a different perspective...they're just a little bit bigger than a coon...eh?

I have always enjoyed seeing a good pack of Red dogs under a coon but seeing them under a lion and all that goes with it...takes it to a whole new level.

I wish you good snow and cool days with fresh tracks cutting the road heading down the mountain...good luck the rest of the season, I'll sure be looking forward to more great moments like that.

Badger

I got some nice pictures of Badger from Bret H. Badger looks pretty good and seems to be learning his business pretty good.

Badger...

Kind of a unique perspective...

Badger is out of Dual Gr. Ch. PR T-Top Dark Timber Moose and Nt. Ch. PR Brown's Leinie Red Ryder. Both Moose and Leinie are out of old Rabble Rouser and this was a pretty good litter with most of the pups turning out at a year and a half of age.

It's that time of year when hunting slows down up in these parts but the weather has been pretty darned good for the end of December so hopefully, our winter won't be so long or tough this year, like it has been for the last several years with lots of snow and cold.

Look good

They all look good Buck...especially when they're pasted to the side of a tree and the slobber is slingin'

I sure get a kick out of seeing ol' Moose getting to do what he loves to do and Sammy and Willow look real good too...nice bunch of dogs.

Last night

Dave came out and loaded up Yank and Gun and headed to the woods. I didn't know he had come out until later...I was down stairs in the man cave Anyway, it got down cold last night...right around 15 degrees and frosty as heck but he had a good night.

Talked to him this morning and he bagged three singles with a couple big boars, one 23 and one 27 pounds along with another nice 21 pound sow. He said the dogs started out rough with the frost coming down but got straight after the first track and drove up the next two tracks they struck like they were hot on them. This late season hunting is usually kind of interesting because some of those big ol' boars are out and about checking dens already. The long range forecast for around here doesn't seem much like January in Wisconsin but...we'll take it. I don't mind seeing the winter shortened up a little bit so let it come.

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year from T-Top Kennels.

Happy New Year

Great pictures Buck and Wendell, gotta love them Red dogs...(and them Blue dogs) ...and them Spotted dogs...when they're pointed at a coon instead thin air

That's a great way to end the old year and bring in the new.

Happy New Year to everyone out there, I hope it brings great things to us all.

That has to get the ol' ticker racing...eh? There's nothing better than seeing a young hound come on and especially when you've watched him grow through it all.

I'm happy to see that nice young hound get with the program John, it's exciting for sure.
