Swamp

Went out for a short hunt with Ann we drove to the basin and soon as I pulled up to the woods I remember I left my 22. At home so I really didn't want to hunt with out it, and no side arm for some reason I was not very comfortable with out it, and I don't always bring it but I think it is the age, but ann hit a cold track about 200 yards in and got quite on it and move out so I got out of the truck to listen and took a look at my garmin and she had move out to 700 yards and going away from me. I unloaded my bike got it warm up, listen for a while and road in about 900 yards cut my bike off and she was treed deep 850 yards away I drove in to about 250 yards and walk in to her and found the coon at the top of a small broke off snag. Took a few pictures of her and come back to the truck and decided to try it tomorrow, I didn't feel right hunting in that big wma with out some protection. I'll be back tonight.

Ann needs a little brother to show him how to tree coon. My hunting buddy has a Flo pup that's 5 months old and has went with his gyp from the first night in the woods. If it's 50 yds Moe will be there. Same deal if it's a mile. Last night Moe decided to be a treedog. Then later he got treed alone but pulled to Penny when she treed. I'll send you a picture of Ann's little brother. Shouldn't of let you talk me out of Reblet or the male pup.

I can't wait to get him in here to light the fire under my feet. Ann is one of my favorite female I've walk behind and I have put a few dogs behind her to get them started and it don't matter to her if she is competitive in a hunt or putting your dog's with her she won't lead them worng. Can't wait to get a Lil brother behind her. These two females off of Rebel / Ann 2 and Rebel / white grass Sally, are the most accurate dogs I've walk behind. This is y I had too twist both of your arms and force you to take my money to get another one. Thanks.

Tobby

Went hunting last night with Tobby And A.J. went around some crawfish ponds and some hardwood swamp .Tobby got out for this hunt. Mr. Jack i dont no how this happen. He was hunting the Jazz female off Zero that i had and his male off Easy 2. I had my pup bon fire. A.j had his male and the first cut they hit a working track and stayed on it a while working out in the swamp full of hardwood and cypress and Jazz took it and got treed first and as we got close to the dogs old Tobby must have forgot he was on a brand new Honda or didnt wont to get it wet he got off the bike and headed to the tree knee deep and boots down and gun on the front of His bike. A.j. and me road our bikes right up to the tree. The dogs was blowing hard and soon as we found the coon Tobby ask for his gun i no a.j. had his so i look at Tobby and laughing and told him i didn't pack his gun. He left his bike 100 yards across the swamp. Mr. Jack your buddy was like a kidd eating candy. We treed another one after all that watching the youg old coonhunter that dont hunt much forget everything once the dogs get treed. Might be two more months before he goes again. Jazz did very good. To be stuck in the pen since he got her from me he might have hunted her 2 times. Hope that light his fire and hunt her.

Rambo

After a long rough trail on looking for a young dog that i can get into the woods and like i may have found a young male. Im going to name him rambo he is a big fellow that i have wanted for a long time but couldn't bring my self to ask to buy him when he was a lot younger do to a long time coonhunter was going through some life changing events in battle with cancer. He pass a short time ago and just out the blue heven the dog fell into my pen tonight. And i dont like to hunt one soon as i get him but since we were already going when i got the call to buy him i took him and to my surprise what i was told was he did not bark on track but he did tonight but it wasn't much but i could tell it was him. And even more delight to my eyes he split 10 yards apart from a very good dog my buddy own. We didn't find a coon but was treed in a place i have treed a lot of coons. Redstick Rambo is very good looking hound. Off Boseph and Il smokey river Bobbie. I will post a little updates on here from time to time.

Corn field

Took my first trip and hunted along the corn with my hunting buddy aj. We cut along the corn and they took off like it was going to be a good night. Aj. Hunts walker dogs and his struck on a wood line thats not big but thick with vines and brush. He just bought a 13 month old female that was her first time out with him. She struck and work a track a lil bit and rambo came in behind her and they treed while aj. Male treed after we got to their tree we shine and didnt find one. So we went to his male dog and he had the coon we made him jump out and cut the young dogs and the found him in this thick brush and retreed him and we didn't shoot him out. We move down and recast and they went their own way and the two walker dogs was on different tracks the female treed and rambo went left and i can tell he was working right in front of me and once he went about 80 yards he open and was working back and foward while the female was treed. We went to her and all the walker dogs was together on the tree while rambo keep moving out he open two more times and i can tell he was working back my way. We shot out their coon and aj took one of his dog back to the truck while we waited for him rambo treed and stayed until we shot it out to him. We move out and treed another one and shot it out. Then the lil female treed another out. We had a good hunt and a late one. The soy beans was full of deer and the hunting didn't stop them. Cant wait to roll them again tonight.

Boseph Bobbie

Hunted this male last night in his first hunt after i got him one week of hard hunting this dog that has been sitting in a pen. He didnt look as good as he been all week but didnt back dogs on slick and didnt run off game one dog got out of pocket twice three dogs slick and this young male stayed clean and got treed at the right time. He needs some steady hunting and he will come out a strong young dog.. Boseph and Bobbie. Making this cross one to keep up with.

BO and ANN PUPS

We rode down to Sleepy's yesterday morning to look at the Pups off Ann and BO and I must say Ann and Sleepy have done a fine job thus far getting them to this point looking great. Dark, Pretty pups that are fat and slick. Mason had fun looking them over but we already had our Heart set on Rose and Motley Crew and that's the 2 we stuck with. In about 4 weeks we will be going back down there to bring them HOME. Enjoyed the visit Sleepy and I could tell Ann hasn't forgotten me because she was nosing my pockets hunting her Snack, lol! I will have her a slice of Borden cheese when we come back, Take Care.

Congrats Sleepy on the C. W. and getting in with the young dog. Looking forward to getting him in these corn fields. Those puppies off old Ann and Bo look great. Ought to be some winners there. You and Steve made a good cross. It looks to me.

Ann

Last night was a very good night to take ann out for a short run. We end up hunting around the corn field. She struck off the back of the bike so i cut her and bonnie and finley my young pup took off and went with ann and treed 200 yards from the bike and the pup was very exited. We shot out the coon for Ann. Went round to yhe other side and we look at 6 coons laying around but we ran one out in the corn and they ran one for a hour before she ran out of gas. So i cought her up and et her take a break until she cut up and wanted to go again and she struck another one out in the cornfield and lil bonnie was in all the way with Ann. Ann went all over the firld before it took off and we found her 0.58 treed with a coon and bonnie was right there. Ann did a outstanding job for her first night out since she have been laid up dealing with pups. My bonnie female is out of boseph and mis fire. I was in the woods on the phone with johnny. Thinking about giving up on the pup and buy another one but im going to hunt her a few more nights in a row. We look at 9 coons altogether.
