Talking

on a light note anybody gonna blow that stimulus money on a new hound ,tracking gear, dog box?. life is just a little inconvenient right now for most of us ,but those that actually succumb to corona virus death, and to their familes it is all to real. if you had a field full of those who have died from it laying there before you it would probably change a lot of peoples perspectives on the seriousness of the situation at hand.my heart gos out to the people whose lives are ruined, but to those who are just inconvenienced (make the best of it)..we took the hounds out to run while we dug clams for supper today. trying to social distance for us houndsman is a no brainer .don't threaten us with a good time.

This new stimulus/unemployment bill is gonna hurt the workforce more than help..........until it runs out.
Gonna pay people $1,000 a week no matter how much they made or didn't make a week.
So low paying job workers will be looking to get fired or laid off and milk this out.
Hope I'm wrong, but I bet I'm not.Already talked to people that are asking to be laid off for full term with summer coming.

The # of Covid 19 cases is still rising but at a slower rate. That is the first step.

If you are put in the hospital and have to be put on a ventilator, will they ask you if you want a Ford or a Chevrolet?

Corona Tracker

Go to worldometer.com. They are tracking coronavirus cases and deaths for the world, by country, and by state/province.

Their timeline is GMT (Greenwich Meridian Time). I had to look that up. It's 4 hours different than Eastern Standard Time, so their midnight = 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.

World: 3/27 = 596,366 Cases. 3/20 = 275,550 Cases. Divide the 3/27 number by the 3/20 number and you get 2.16. So world cases more than doubled in 1 week.

U.S.: 3/27 =104,126 Cases. 3/20 = 19,367 Cases. Divide the 3/27 number by the 3/20 number and you get 5.38. So the U.S. cases have more than quintupled in 1 week. Think about that: 538% of the previous week numbers.

We are now the epicenter of this virus, and it's going to get much worse.

All I can say is dismiss the bullsh*t and be as careful as you can be. This isn't going away anytime soon.

the percentage of deaths is what is bad. when it started they was saying 2% average .well I get more like around 4 1/2 % average. they take so long updating recovered cases . US is just under 2% but until they start showing recoveries climbing .where will those cases not recovered yet be at ?
I think states may be not reporting too.to make it look better? read about one in California. guy tested positive , got pneumonia and died. they said he did not die from virus so did not report as virus related.

Oh my goodness, I found that Worldmeter site and it looked to me like our new cases and death rates were starting to slow down. I wonder if they will level off now? Maybe we will reach that Apex shortly. I also saw where the CDC had finally approved the malaria drug for Covid 19 use. Maybe the death rate will seriously decline now.

Total # of deaths in USA is not good but percentage of deaths is very low and will get better now that they can start using the new drug. Total cases...142,793.... Total deaths...2,490... What is that percentage?

Tell your friend Ron White says there's no cure. He'll have to live with it. Obviously it's worse than coronavirus.

The "scientists" predicticting or forecasting what is going to happen with the Carona Virus are just like the "scientists" predicting or forecasting what the weather is going to be like.

Just look at the hurricane forecasters. They have all of those facts, figures, equipment, airplanes etc. And they have a past history of how hurricanes act. How do they do? How accurate are those "scientists"?

Maybe he is reading this Forum also. Trump said this evening that we should hit the "apex" on Easter, the 12th. We will have to see how he is at forecasting.

"Pneumonia is the chief cause of death from the COVID-19 corona virus." "It's the resulting pneumonia that actually leads to the death." These are quotes taken from medical sites. I suspect that we've probably had a lot more pneumonia deaths from Nov 2019-Present than we've had in that same period in previous years (I suspect this, but don't have data to back it up). COVID-19 caused??? Very possible. Probably likely.

Re: States not reporting. I believe you are 100% right on this. I've heard of a couple of situations locally (PA/WV) where they don't want to report (and drive their numbers up). Although, in the situations I've heard about, it's not so much about the states not wanting to report as it is about the localities not wanting to report.

The above was posted 3/16/2020.

New York now at 67,325 cases and 1,342 deaths (growing by the minute). Look at the differences in just 2 weeks.

New York (if a country) would be the 5th most afflicted country in the world now.

The above posted 3/24/2020. And the numbers were phony.

The latest report (6 days later) shows 3164 deaths.

A couple of additional facts = we have over 20% of the confirmed and reported cases in the entire world. In the last day we have approx. 33% of the new confirmed and reported cases worldwide (and we're still on the upswing).

We are now ground zero in this pandemic.

Anybody here still believe that we're all going back to work by Easter???

And, no, I don't buy into CNN or MSNBC (the world is ending), or Fox (it's all a hoax to make the president look bad).

Bottom line = This is serious. Anyone that says otherwise is just flat out lying to you!!!

Take care, and take precautions. We are in this for the long haul!!!

If you factor in the population of the US, then there are about 24 countries ahead of us. You can pick and choose which #'s you want to look at and come to different conclusions. If you take out New York and New Jersey we are at the bottom of the list. Just don't go to New York or New Jersey.
If you believe that the sky is falling then you can pick out #'s to support that theory. But if you think that we will get over this in a couple of months then you can pick out #'s to support that also. It is all a matter of perspective. Is the glass half full or half empty?
