We'll see how it all falls into place as far as Dave being able to make the trip but I know I'm looking forward to it and unless something really unexpected happens, I'll be there with Griz and Gun. [/B]

I was hoping you would bring both down. If Dave does make it, I can guide whichever is handling Griz. If he don't, maybe I can remember what he sounds like.

Griz..

It's pretty hard to forget what Griz sounds like Tim...he's pretty unique in his tree style. He's in good rig and getting good work so is always competitive on any given night.

Gun is still a green horn but has the tools to be very good and he's already seen as many coons as some dogs 3-4 years old. He'll be 2 in June but most folks wouldn't think it if they'd see him go. He'll be the next project coming out of here and I believe will have a lot to offer somewhere down the road. He's a tough draw, even now as a year old pup.

We've still got another nice young male here so no lack of projects to dig into...that's for sure.

Congratulations to Dave and Griz

Dave got a first place win and King of hunt with Griz at the Redbone event held at Neilsville, WI last night.

Griz is owned by Tim Gilchrist from southern Iowa.

Griz...

Griz finished to Nite Champion last night so completed his Dual Champion title as...

Gr. Ch. Nt. Ch. PR Fox Creek T-Top Griz

Griz is by way of..

Dual Gr. Ch. PR T-Top Rabble Rouser
and
Gr. Nt. Ch. PR Thomas' Midnight Music

I believe that Griz is the 4th dog to finish from that litter and I think there are two more dogs from that litter that have first place wins so it was a pretty nice cross...

I am sure that is Griz in the picture as he usually 'marks' his tree. You guys are getting him fine tuned.

Aaron...

Hey Aaron...it looks like we'll be heading down your way around mid day on the 11th of May. It will take us about 5 hours to get there so we should see you late afternoon.

We're looking forward to catching up and seeing how much those little girls have grown since we saw them last.

We'll be trying to get the dogs out in between the rain showers and hopefully have them in good enough shape to put on a good showing at the hunt in Troy.

We have had some heavy rain over the last few nights and it has blown up into spring for sure. We're seeing a good chance of heavy rain over the next several days so hopefully there will be a clear spot for a few hours this weekend so we can tree some coons.

I heard that there was a T-Top Rabble grandpup hunting for $60,000 this weekend down in Missouri. Does anyone know how he is doing?

All I know is that it has been very very hot and humid down there, which makes it very hard on a northern WI dog........ He's been treein' a good pile of coons tho.........that's all I'm at liberty to say Richard.....

I bet that it is awfully hard on a Northern Wi handler as well.

I took Chance over to Wilton tuff dog. And she won line and tree in her heat in the swim race and 95 bpm in the treeing contest. And Chief got a 2nd place in the night hunt.

Great job

Hey Carl, great job with your dogs at Wilton! It was kind of a tough day and night with the weather but it's great to hear that you all did so well with your Red dogs.

Richard...I'm curious to know which dog was competing in all that heat and humidity...It has been raining and storming every day and night around here lately and not much hunting getting done at all. Yesterday and last night it was really booming and like a torrential downpour around here. It's nice to get the rain this time of year but it would be nice to get a good night once in awhile also.

Pups

That's good stuff Richard...it keeps it interesting for sure.

I like what I'm seeing out of some of those crosses being made and it sure sounds like it will make for a fun fall this year.

It's kind of crazy to be already looking forward to fall but that's how I'm already feeling...I love watching these youngsters take shape.

Griz

Griz has gone home to Iowa to spend some good time with his owner and to maybe put a little action into a few of those local hunts.

I tried to hook up with a friend of Tim's to get Griz home but it didn't work out to meet him with my work and kind of short notice.

Out of the blue, Tim gets a wild hair and hits the road and after this morning...Griz is back at his home in Iowa and ready for action.

I'm glad you were able to make it work Tim, I know it made for a long evening and early morning today but...you got'er done.

Pulled in the drive just before 4 this afternoon. Griz looks like he can run all night. Going out in a little while to tune my ear. lol Had him tied to the back of the pickup and when I started the Gator to chore, he started barking it up. lol We'll see how the cookie crumbles this weekend. Thanks

Dogs

Over the last few days, we have heard about some young hounds getting some cast wins.

Aaron's Shadow female got a cast win which was good for a third place and is a real nice prospect with a bright future ahead of her...she is by way of...

Nt. Ch. PR T-Top Yankee
and
Nt. Ch. Ch. PR T-Top Dark Angel

Don Barnett's Deuce and Music dogs had a nice young male show up and get a second place win. His name is Dan and he is by way of

Gr. Nt. Ch. PR Cross Country Deuce (Dual Gr. Ch. PR T-Top Rabble Rouser)
and
Nt. Ch. PR Sterkis' Music Maker (Dual Gr. Ch. PR T-Top Rabble Rouser)

I like those half brother/half sister line crosses...we've had real good luck with those kinds of crosses over all these years and Deuce and Music seem to prove that it still works.

Good luck to all you folks hunting a Red dog and especially to you folks hunting offspring going back to our T-Top line of hounds, we're very happy to have been able to have a small part to play in helping folks keep and hunt a good hound.
