Ace
Gun is growing into a real good looking hound also. He has great muscle structure, good feet and legs a loud mouth and very tree minded at a young age. He's ready to get into the game but it's tough to get him into shape with limited hunting. Just the same, fall will come again and he will make a splash for the breed when his time comes. He hunts out good, strikes honest, opens right on the ground, has a very nice locate and will get on the wood like a dog much older and more experienced.
Ace and Cherry was and will be again, a great cross because it brings together strengths of two real nice lines of hounds and combines them into one dog that can be the best of both. It also doubles up on hounds that are a foundation of our line and going back to other great lines in our breed.
Good stuff...can't wait to see it happen again.
I was happy to see that folks had a good time at ARD. It's a tough time of year to hunt dogs and see them at their best but it's always good to see different dogs get a chance to win casts and make some noise at those kinds of events. Not everyone can be the big winner but the effort to compete and participate in the events deserves a lot of credit. Lots of good dogs don't make it to the final winner's circle...just can't happen but congratulations to all that made the trip and put in the effort.
We'll see what NRD brings for folks, maybe we'll get lucky and a good spell of weather will bless the event in July.

Unrealistic expectations are a roadblock to success, judge your dogs by what they are ready to give not by what you wish they'd do.
