Here is a video of Jet and Bree treeing together about 3 weeks after they were bred. They are both very similar in their track and tree styles. this should be a very nice cross

This is Bree about 2 weeks ago on one of the last nights I hunted her before she got to big...showing that fat girls can still get the job done

Outlaw Cherry Bomb 1yr old (Billy the Kid x Breanna) treeing with her Grand mother Dual Grand Ch. Moonlight Deana
This female is exceptionally loud mouthed and it seems that every pup in this litter is the same way. You just don't see many redbones with this kind of volume....especially from a female

9 Jet and Bree babies this morning....but high winds knocked power out....and the heat to whelping box for 7 hours. 22 degrees here last night so been struggling to keep them all warm enough. Power just came on and getting things warmed up now.

My next stud dog...
Should throw some really big heads and huge mouths, the down side is they will be about 110-120 lbs and possibly to tall.

he also has red color genes, they just got hidden in him lol

Chop for food, bawl to go outside. He has a killer mouth, will drown out most of the dogs out there, I hope to be able to single register him... oh and he might throw a double coat too, it'll help them not get cut up as much in the woods by fences n such, but burrs might be more of an issue lol

Hmmm that is quite a trail of big winning gr.nt.ch. females who were also some of the best reproducers of big winners in the redbone breed.
What other line has 7 generations of not only big winning males...but also generation after generation of big winning females stacked one behind the other going that far back? Some people don't like to talk about what their dogs are out of further back than 2 or 3 generations....but I am proud of what is behind the line of dogs I hunt today. There isn't a weak link to be found in this chain of winners and that's why is just keeps turning out more winners with each generation. There is no other line out there that was built upon the best and biggest winning females of the redbone breed.
The Nighty Nite, Moonlight and Outlaw lines are unique in that respect. The breeders who are responsible for these lines took the hard road and decided to build their breeding programs around "PROVEN' titled big winning females....the best in the breed....and look where it took them! We are getting close to producing some serious competition contenders who can compete against, and beat the best of the other breeds.
I am grateful to each and every man and woman who had a hand in promoting and bettering the line I hunt and love.
To those who currently hunt a dog from this line...lets continue this line by using the same methods of proving our dogs before we make crosses. This will keep this line strong and producing winners long into the future....Shane

Some have questioned the use of 20 yr old semen from stud dogs of the past. They say things like "why would you want to go backwards?"
Well, I had two of the best redbones I have ever seen 20 yrs ago....and have not seen another that I like as well in the past two and a half years of traveling all over the country and hunting with and competing against the best the breed currently has to offer. now I have not hunted with every redbone out there...but I have hunted with alot of them. The line I am currently hunting and promoting goes back to the dogs I had 20 yrs ago and are the closest in ability that I have found....so it was a logical choice to cross these descendents of the best dogs I have ever had....with frozen semen from the male (Outlaw Billy The Kid) 1993 National Redbone Days Champion....that they all go back to.
They are heavy line bred crosses and of the 4 crosses that we have made...none are 2 yrs old yet and several of the pups are either nt.ch. or already have a 1st place win...and they are good lookers as well with several already show champions on the bench. the youngest cross is not a yr old but already the reports are coming in and some are running and treeing. I kept one pup from each of the first 3 crosses and I am very pleased with them. the oldest (B.J. out of Billy and Dual Gr.Ch. Amber) made nt.ch. with 3 first place wins. Then the next 2 crosses were on Gr.Nt.Ch. Breanna, and Her Mother Dual Gr.Ch. Deana.
they are only about a month apart in age and the Male from Deana and Billy won a first place in his first hunt with 600 plus the night before he turned 13 mo old. the female out of Breanna has had the least amount of hunting due to a cut foot, being in heat twice now and then an eye injury that she just got over.
But even with only a handful of trips to the woods...she has proven to be a natural and will be ready for the hunts later this year. These dogs have some of the best mouths ever hung on a redbone....especially the females. These dogs are living proof that with the right breeding program and plan....20 yr old semen can produce pups just as good or better than anything being produced by modern living stud dogs.
I would also just like to remind everyone that the 2011 National Redbone days Champion with 3 cast wins was Dual Gr.Ch. Nighty Nite Amber......and Amber was produced from 20 yr old frozen semen from the 1992 National Redbone Days Champion, Too The Maxx. So my B.J. female is out of 20 yr old semen and a female who was also out of 20 yr old semen.
It is hard to argue with real live results and there are plenty of results showing from pups from these litters at a young age.

Outlaw Cherry Bomb (Billy x Breanna) and Outlaw Infamous Amos (Billy x Deana) split treed 100 yrds from Dual Gr.Ch. Moonlight Aftershock

Outlaw Cherry Bomb (Billy x Breana) and Dual Gr.Ch. Moonlight Aftershock treed on creekbank on small tree...with the coon!

The coon that Aftershock and Cherry treed just after it jumped out and landed in the creek. They got ahold of it for a minute but then it got away and crossed the creek and climbed a small tree.
It was 22 degrees last night and me and both dogs had icicles hanging off us when we got to the truck.

Outlaw Cherry Bomb after re-treeing the coon that jumped out into the creek and got away from the dogs. she was wore out from baying and fighting it in the creek for several minutes and it was bitter cold....but she got him to climb again about 50 yrds down the creek.

Just wanted to repost this for all the people who have been contacting me about the breeding of the two females we have bred to Dual Grand Ch. Outlaw Jessie James jr semen. This post shows the pedigree of Dual Grand Ch. Moonlight Deana who was bred to him as well as J.J. jr's pedigree. The other female bred is B.J. whose pedigree is shown in the post above this one.

Just heard from Robbie Abrams and after a great showing last weekend when he finished Nighty Nite Little Red Billy to show champion and won 1st place in the nite hunt....this weekend he picked of 2 wins toward grand show champion and won 2nd place in the nite hunt. Looks like he will make nt.ch. shortly
Billy is a litter mate to Nt.Ch. Outlaw Billy Jean female...and they are out of Billy the Kid semen and Dual Grand Ch. Nighty Nite Amber
Way to go Robbie! When Robbie finishes Billy to Gr.Nt.Ch. he will be the only redbone male that can produce a 4 generation all grand litter if bred to a female who can do the same. Future stud dog? He sure carries the blood for it
P.S. Herschel Burt has the other male pup from this cross and I know he will be trying to finish his as well.....but I got the lead on both of them with B.J. who is already a nt.ch......so who will be the first to cross the finish line and make gr.nt.ch. the quickest? Stay tuned because John Biggert has another littermate to these and you know he will be in the running as well and a young man in Iowa named Zach Vote has the 5th and final Littermate female....so who will it be and what big hunts will they win along the way!!!
John Biggert deserves all the credit for this cross. His hunting me down and convincing me to breed Amber to Billy semen and offering to give me a pup from the cross is what brought me back to hunting after quite a few years away spent raising my son, building a career and finishing college. Thank you John!

I too want to give John Biggert all the credit for the great breeding he comes up with, like you I was out of the coonhunting for a while, only I was taking care of my mom who was having kidney trouble, that and work I just didn't have time to mess with the reddogs like I wanted. when he made this cross I had just gotten a female pup and I was fortunate to be given a chance to get one of these pups out of AMBER/BILLY.
the female pup I had before I got my Billy pup is a half sister to your female as she is also out of dual gr Moonlight Bo, she just turned 2 in Feb. she made grch ntch at 19 months old after having a bout with Lyme disease.
You and Robbie are sure putin the pressure on this old guy, my littermate has not been entered in a hunt yet, but I have set a goal for him and myself, hopefully we can reach it, will be glad when we get rid of this snow, they say we are to get a little more tonight, but my Billy did tree one on the snow tonight, didn't hunt him to long as it seems it a little crustie and hard on a dogs feet.
the hunts should be starting up near me in April,so maybe I can make one once in a while. My male pup will not be bred until he is at least a ntch if then, and then only to quality hunting females,something that I think will improve the breed, not just to get pups to sell

Outlaw Billy The Kid got me back going

I had had Redbones since 1972. In the early 90's, my life got busy as most have some time in their life. I only had an old blue female at the time. I think it was the Redbone issue of '95, there was an interview article with Shane. After reading the article, I got the desire back and started looking for a Billy pup. That September, I read an ad from Harold Hartley. And the rest is history.

Tim, I think that article was in the June 1993 issue because I seem to remember having it in the truck when I went to National redbone days that July and Billy was getting alot attenttion and several guys spectated that weekend and he ended up winning National redbone days overall champion.
Anyway, I am glad you got back into redbones
Harold Hartley had Dual Grand CH. Flatlands Billy Joe.....a super nice female who won alot including American Redbone Days in 1990 and as some might remember....she was Billy The Kid's Aunt....being a litter mate to Outlaw Jessie Boy...there sure has been a lot of big winning females from this line of dogs going way back....no wonder everyone wants female pups...lol

Billy's history is kinda strange I got to hunt with him 3 different nights close to a dozen drops some with young dogs some alone some with top hounds I seen the same thing night after night drop after drop from billy he was deeper then any thing he was cut with when he struck he treed first or alone every time seen a good female tree coon behind him telling me he passed a few coon but billy was treed before that female ever made a bark
Now every person I've talked to that hunted with billy seen the same type of dog I did when Shane owned him the funny part every one I talk to 20 years later have different story's that all start I heard from so and so who knew a guy that hunted with billy when he was bla bla bla lol

I know what you mean Mark. I can only remember Billy losing his cast 4...maybe 5 times before making gr.nt.ch. and I don't remember him ever looking bad in a hunt. When he did lose...it was not by much. But there are not many hunting today who probably got to see him in his prime when I had him. I remember quite a few people spectating on several casts and then having a lot of nice things to say to others when we got back to the grounds after those hunts. I have yet to ever see another dog like old Billy....he was one of a kind
