This is the toughest panning I have ever done ,the sand is as fine as talcum powder . I quit because the gold is so small its micro small,I'm going to have to set up my micro sluice box for this stuff .

Chuck I done panned off an on all day today. Hotter n blue blazes out here. Thought I mighta found a piece. Then while putting in a bottle. I lost it lol. I've panned till my arms are sore. Somethin ain't right. Can't find any. Looking in wrong spot I guess. I tried sand. Dug around bottoms of some rocks in creek above a small water fall. Dug on edge of water. Dug up on dry ground. Ain't no gold down here.

Well I was gonna get there but it was over my waders lol. I'll take s pic next time and send ya. I did also notice on far side. Looked like it had caved off some. I assume that may be a good spot but it looks like red dirt and some of that grey clay stuff. I did find a bunch of mussels. Didn't even know any were in there.

Dawg ,That gray clay more than likely will have some gold stuck on it or not too deep into it . I'll send you some pics of my 6 year old granddaughters gold we just now brought to the light of day ,lol

Didnt pan any this weekend. Had a yardsale. Sold all kinds of junk. Beats all I ever saw at what folks will buy. A going thing was old horse shoes. I had a crap load of those. Sold em all.
thank you mr.chuck,i live a little over a hour away from tellico.in my front yard theres a creek that runs thru it that comes off the mountain.i tried panning a couple of times but aint found nothing but sand.would you think that there might be gold here in the creek since it runs off a mountain,or does it make a difference.

Skeets ,you and Ga Dawg both need to take a few pics of those creeks for me to look at . I can't tell too much without seeing some pics of where your working at .

In the next to last pic ,theres a guy with mud/sand almost to his elbows ,thats a sure sign of "GoldFever" ,,there is no known cure for it ,but man it's fun ,,lol.
