Pups
Hey Tim, it looks like those Rebel pups are really getting with the program. I know that those two females that Pastor Mike is working with, have great potential and it sure looks like you're going to have your hands full with those pups. I like them to show good interest in a coon before I move them forward with the program and those pups are exactly how I like to see them.
I got pretty much the same reaction from these pups I'm working with but they haven't seen a live coon yet, they're just getting fired up on a carcass or drag at this point. They'll see a live coon pretty quick and if the reaction is the same, I'll be moving them forward because they sure act like they're ready for it.
I see some nice young hounds being worked with out of Haze, Moose and Spook, Rebel, Ace Yank and other really nice hounds. Moving our breed forward requires that we have put good male and female dogs together and that their pups get an honest opportunity to show what they can do.
When making a choice on what male to breed to or where to go to get a pup with good potential, people need to look at the foundation that these crosses came from and the history of success for those pups coming from those crosses. I am seeing a lot of these pups turning out or at least showing that they have the desire to learn and the ability to move forward towards becoming top hounds for both pleasure and competition hunters.
I enjoy seeing these pups move forward and I appreciate the effort that folks are putting into them...it doesn't happen by itself, it takes some effort. It's looking again like we'll have a fun next couple of years watching some really nice pups turning into really nice hounds.

Unrealistic expectations are a roadblock to success, judge your dogs by what they are ready to give not by what you wish they'd do.
