For one.....it looks too big and it probably has way too much stuff on it for me.

I like Simple Operation.

I have never used the 300....so I might not know what I am talking about....LOL

I have a Buddy that has the Alpha 10 & the 300....he says he prefers the Alpha 10 for several.reasons

Forgot to add the Price is a factor as well...LOL

I only need a System to tell me what direction my dog is, how far it is, Mark the truck......that's it.
I don't need to link.my buddies systems or way points etc.....most of the time I don't even need the Map.

Simple......Simple......Simple......!!!

Tim I had the 100 and now the 300. For me the 300 is at least as easy to use as the 100 but yes price is a factor. I like using the maps on my phone to see exactly where the dog is. May be able to do that with the 10 but I'm not sure.

Sell a few of your lights and get a 300.I could teach a chimpanzee how to use it.Could probably teach you over the phone.lol.No matter what you get dont depend on a gps 100% to get you back to the truck.I use my trusty compass every time i go hunting at night along with the gps.A gps will send you the wrong way and show your dog the wrong way if its compass needs calibrating.
and it happens more often than youd think.Without a pocket compass i cant tell if mine needs callibrating.Or the battery could die or the gps could stop working.

Tom

Thanks for the info.
Was leaning towards the 100....but not set on it just yet.
The Alpha 10 does not have Maps....but can use the Explorer Map on my phone and link them together......kinda the reason I was thinking on the 10.

I have Sold all my Lights except foe a few Superior Lites, they have proven to be the most dependable to me and are my Favorite.

I know all about that GPS leading you in the wrong direction....been there & done that if you don't calibrate.....that's why I carry a Bushnell Backtrack, leads me right every time.

I've had the 220, 100, and now the 200i. I liked the 100 the best. Ease of use, training capabilities, compass reliability, and dependability. The 220 had no training abilities, and the 200i needs the compass calibrated almost every time i go to the woods. Maps aren't very good on any of the three i mentioned.

They have an update that you can do for the Pro 550 Plus that allows you to mark the truck.

Tim I never use the maps on the 300, always use maps on my phone. If for some reason maps on my phone didn't work I could just use compass on my 300 to get my dog. Recalibrating the compass is easy. If you can use your phone with the 10 I'd say you would like it fine but I'm staying with my 300. With all that said I tried the dogtra 2 when it came out and really like how it operated but mine kept having problems. Understand they have that fixed now.

Tom

Thank you for that info.
The 300 sounds like a nice system.
I am not sure which direction I will go, but still leaning towards the 100.
I actually did think.about the Dogtra Pathfinder 2.......But I knew they were having some issues.

Astro 430

Garmin Astro 430 is by far the best and picks up farther. I hunt in east tennessee and there is no flat land Astro 430 best I've ever owned and they pick up further because they just track and don't have to worry about doing anything but tracking. I use a Garmin Trashbreaker Pro fro training an I do fine.

How many voters have tested all four of these? Or are you voting for the one you're using?

What is the difference between the 430 & 320 ?

I used a 320 for years....very few issues other than going thru batteries.

Never had a 320 so idk can't say. Ik compared to my buddies 320 the map is way better with map card. Ik that u can track tt15 and t5s and xs with a 430 but can't with a 320 just can't use the train8ng features with the 430 only track the collar also you can add the map card tonthe 430 don't knownif you could a 320 or not never owned one. So basically they can track the newer collars the 320 can't like the tt15 an t5.
