Here ya go Tiny, Chawn, Melanie (& Travis)

I think we got ourselves a good one... Out looking for some Donkeys (just for you Travis).... And well the dogs ended up putting up 5 coons in 3 trees... Tryin to shape 'em up for opening of bear season coming up in 11 days...

Took about 40 pictures only to find out, the camera was on the wrong setting and only THREE darn pictures turned out (not really) Craig already called Tiny to let him hear little ol' Judge...Pretty sad at such a young age he's as good as the other young dogs My little Miss Aspen flat impressed me tonight too, she was rockin' all the tree's too. Buster's doing good on track, just not catching on to the tree... But I know something Brown, Fuzzy, Bobtailed and 300lbs that might change his mind on treein'.

Judge... Not quite 6 months old....

Judge and Aspen

Left to Right: Sassy on tree, Judge, Crash, Aspen, and that's Buster's back ruining the picture...

Video (Don't mind Crash in the tree)

Not a bad end to September 11...

I think Judge needs to come back here! He doesn't match very well with all those walkers!!
Oh BTW, he's going on 6 months. Hard to believe, I know!

SHHH - He doesn't know he doesn't blend in, no ones told him... He's awful light colored LOL... Can't have him back... I'd be out a coon dog to show these Walkers what a coon is!

I know, not sure why I posted that, LOL. I keep getting him confused with the other pups, alot of birthdays to remember. It was late when I posted! The littermates are 10 months old, and the small one is already close to 14-15 weeks old!

Dang.... Now I feel guilty for not having done more with the hotdog on stilts (that is what Tuff looks like right now ) I think I will head out this weekend and see if I can't dump him into a cat race... He has been babysitting puppies and chasing the housecat..

Judge looks good... He looks darn good.. And glad to see the littermates are starting to turn the crank

Judge actully looks really good... That picture of him on the tree does no justice! He looks fat and puppyish - like a hot dog on stilts LOL. He's starting to shape up some... He keeps right up with the other dogs (helps that he's as big/bigger than most of them) That was his 3rd time out, and we've still never shown him anything since we got him!

The littermates are making progress... They haven't seen a coon since they were 4 months old, that's when season closed... So I'm glad they are progressing naturally.... I really think they will turn it on this bear season.

Melanie, do you think Tuff is ready for the woods?
Obviously Judge is and I know Jimbo/Fog and Chica are but.....no puppy before its time.

Chawn

I am not sure. I like to take them out and walk them to a tree or two and let him tell me if he is ready to go or not... I am not going to push him if he says he would rather goof around the house for a bit longer....

As I was out cleaning kennels today I noticed Jimbo/Fog carrying a planter pot around. I think both of you, Melanie & Cassandra, have made mention of your pups carrying stuff around. It brought something to mind I hadn't really thought about before. Their daddy will bring a dead coon out of "rough stuff". He's brought them out of the middle of briar patches, water and very long pipes. He doesn't really retrieve to hand, but you can eventually tackle him and get it (just ask Tiny)!
Anyhow, just a thought about what *might* be in the works, so maybe you don't want to really discourage it. LOL
Just think, if you had enough of these big boys in your pack, they might be willing to bring a bear out of a canyon. GOLDMINE!!

I knew you guys kept those big ol dogs around for a reason! I for the life of me couldn't see the point in having a big dog.... I remember you saying "massive" while refering to the puppies and thinking, uh oh ... To me 60lbs is huge, LOL ... I always like smaller dogs cause it's "less dog" but I end up with six in the box because that's how many I can fit!! As it is Judge takes up one side of the box in the brown truck... I guess bigger dogs mean less dogs... Maybe thats another reason? LMAO! We might have to cut down on dogs cause we can't fit em all in the truck with the bluetick in there! Tiny & Chawn know how to get people to switch breeds

Judge likes carrying stuff around. Only thing is is he'll take off with the coon like he does the toys, trying to hide from the others, and we'll never see him again! But if he can drag a bear, thats the best money we've ever spent!!!

Yeah I'm biased, but that boy is gorgeous!!! Just LOVE his coloring!
So far I'm happy with the looks that came from Big's side, and there was certainly no loss of that tendency to start early and with a lot of natural instinct and desire.
Can't wait to see how they continue to progress. I don't stop worrying about them until they're about 3-4 yrs old. LOL
Ya never know.....you just might be turning Judge in on a bear race or two toward the end of season. He certainly shouldn't be any smaller than probably most of your dogs by then, and he just may have the mental development to handle it. But if not, maybe he'll be well on his way to becoming an awesome rig dog. Just keep him learning and experiencing -- they only get smarter that way!!!

Did I really refer to these pups as massive?? Maybe comparing the boys to the girls?? These are definitely not the biggest pups we've ever had, and they're growing so slowly compared to previous litters.
Come to think of it, I have no idea how big the pups from the Rebel/Taz litter last year are now. Haven't even seen any pics of the one female or the male that went to OH.

Size wise I think we are going to need a bigger dogbox LOL.. Good thing the rest of my dogs are small.

Nick made it home last night and took a quick look at Tuff (about 11pm) "holy $hit, he's big" were the first words out of his mouth He is taller then everyone else and closing quickly on the bloodhound...

He is still packing things around so hopefully he will help carry out bobcats...

And yep, he is massive compared to my dogs..... My Jack hasn't even hit 50lbs yet..

Cassandra.... Judge sure is a handsome thing. Tuff doesn't have nearly that dark of tan trim.

Are Tuff's eyes still darker than Judge's?
If you find you can't stuff him in the dogbox with all the other dogs, you can always bring him back and trade him for the Crazy Midget. LOL Nick would probably love her.
Nope!! I thought about it and those boys are definitely NOT massive. We saw massive in Kansas and it made Rebel look puny!! Our boys are usually tall and leggy with big houndy heads, but they don't have the mass and girth that those Big Blues have!

Yes Tuff still has darker eyes, and I think his head is bigger.. more broad....

Nick would probably love the crazy midget.. He likes them..hence the feeding of Mandie.. who is not my favorite in the kennel or around the house... I like her in the woods much better.... I will let you know if he decides he doesn't like Tuff... which I couldn't imagine why he wouldn't ..

Actually Big's build reminds me A LOT of how Brisco's littermates and half brothers are built. All tall and super leggy.. which is how I think Tuff will stay... Suprising since I always managed to pick the smaller, stocky ones...

Now that my camera is home again I will try and get some pictures of the Tuff guy up here.. I have a few days off this week so I imagine he will be hauled around in the dogbox with the rest of the mangy mutts

Judge is deffinately ready enough to go to bear tree's right now. He'll probably get to this weekend. Not sure if he will be running by this year, but I hope! Just gotta see how the bears act this year. We plan on hunting a little different of area, well same area, just the other side, and not sure if he's ready for "the hole" yet. I'd hate to have to walk into the hole and get him. LOL. I do know he'll be bigger than the rest of the dogs by years end. The only ones bigger than him now are Buster and Sassy. He's got a little bit to catch up to Sassy though, she's a friggin Giraffe.

I believe you said Jimbo was more massive than the others. Craig really liked him because he was colored more/darker, I did too, but after hearing massive, I went ahead and went with the smaller one. I think Judge was the smallest male. So maybe he won't get too big.

He does have light eyes though. Darker than they once were, but that's really the only thing I'm not crazy about... They may still get a little darker. They match his coat well though.

I still like Judge's pretty blue eyed sister! I keep asking Craig and he said no If I didn't have this other pup I might have gotten her too...

Crazy Midget, I have one of those already... I think he might even have enough ticks for Chawn! LMAO!

Yeah, Jimbo is now 53# but it doesn't sound like he's got the leg that Judge and Tuff do. He still looks pretty proportional. Hope to hear some exciting news about him in the future! He leaves Thurs for his new home.
