Last Weeks Hunt
Season started on the 15th.
We ran off a bait and when it crossed the road we seen it was a sow and cub. We pulled the dogs and went to find another , but no go.
Sunday ( 16th ) we ran off another bait and treed one. Not a big one , but we had a good race and got a young man his first bear. Devin is 17 and is a 3rd generation bear hunter.
Monday ( 17th ) we ran and treed another 150 pounder. I decided to take that bear as it may be my last. I took the rifle to the tree instead of the camera. I'll post pictures when I get them from the other guys.
We took a day off to rest the dogs on tuesday.
Wednesday ( 19 th ) we treed another 150 pounder and let it go.
Thursday we treed a coon.
And Friday , thunderstorms moved in.
We just couldn't get after a big one.
Another group took one that weighed in at 340 lbs dressed. He killed one dog and sent 3 others to the vet for a bill of over a thousand dollars.
I came home Friday to take the grandson out on our Youth Deer Season. No luck yet.
Not a bad week for bear hunting with a bunch of coondogs. LOL
Sorry about the quality , I'm a hunter , not a photogragher ! LOL

3 generations of bear hunters.....
Bob (R) , David (L) , and Devin Milheim with Devin's first bear.

The one we let go.........
