Through the years!
I've coon hunted for 45 years now--"Trouble" bought my first pup when i was 15-- raised an trained him until he died @ 13 years old--
Then we bought a pup we called Big Fred! When Fred was about 7 or 8 years old i wanted to start raising my own pups--so i heard about a hound called Harmon's Ink--
the first 15 minutes in the woods with Ink i knew that i wanted some of that blood!! so i purchased
a female pup off Ink x Hardtime Dolly, Dolly was Speck on top, double bred vansant's sam on bottom-
would have been the perfect cross on my fred dog--he was blackman's red joe, vansant;s sam
on the bottom, never could get any pups off fred, Fred died here of old age.
Well about that time a hound came along that i really liked, Hall's Comanche, In alot of ways Comanche was like
Fred, Comanche was Rocky x double bred pinehill trueboy, so
bred Nt. Ch. Gibosn's Ruby to Duel Gr Nt Ch Hall's Comanche,
That produced Nt.Ch. Gibson's Katie, Well by then Jerry had another hound that i really liked Nt. Ch. Harmon's Nick, so then
i made the cross Nick x Katie, Nick was off Ink x and a speck
bred female-- that was a uncle niece cross-- That produced a
GREAT litter Gr.Nt.Ch. akc nt.ch alittle under 500 pkc money,
Gibson's Sunset Luke, Luke was intered in about 30 hunts
total! pkc ch. gibson's--bates sunset buck-- nt.ch Johnson's Brandy,
Harmon's Ram, Gibson's jesse, "coondogWebster",
Gibson's Kate, couple more! These were really good hounds!
Well now i wanted to breed Luke to some "good females" first being sunset lille
Luke 2, was making an "outstanding hound" played chicken with a car--"lost" that game,
then bred him to wildcountry pepper. we
have willie,mack,sugar, several others on that cross, then bred
Luke to wildcountry chance got one pup Nt.Ch.Wildcounrty Lone,
Then i bred Luke to a woodstock frmale this was a graet litter of
coon treeing. little Ink, Henry, Bruzzer, all owned by pleasure hunters.
I started working with Dustin Myers in Idaho-- He had
a feamle he wanted to breed to Luke so we worked it out got it
done. "working together things can happen" the luke x stinger
another great cross-- Vemon, Smoke,Nt.Ch.Stride,Tazer, I also
bred lightfoot Jewel, Maggie. Cindy, and another lightfoot female
shobiz, i only know about 1 of these pups-- ky blue luke..
Lukes last 2 litters are under 2 years old luke x crankie pups are coming along nice.
after that i bred the only dog "female" that i've ever purchased Gibson's Lightfoot Frosty--
I only got 3 pups-- they are making some outstanding young hounds!!
