I have hunted a few dogs that you could say was Echo Dogs. The first thing each dog showed me was I didn't need to train them, all I had to do was hunt them enough to let them develope their inherited traits, these dogs would go hunting and tree coon that you could find in their tree.

ECHO DOGS

I have a few Echo bred dogs. I like their drive and determination. As a whole, they have that little extra fire in them that I look for.

Jerry, another thing that I have always liked about Echo dogs is that I didn't ever have to break any of them from running fast game such as deer or fox, they seem to become focused on coon very early on and have shown more desire to get under coon than any line of dogs of any color that I have been around in my limited exposure to coon hunting or coonhounds.

It is a fact Troy has been at it for a long time and more than one hound from his stock has went a long ways in the world hunt

I like em, been with some good ones been with some that bordered on great, one thing about it hate them or love them you have to give them credit they have done more than their share of winning.
voyd, how are you and joe getting along

Dont know alot about the Echo dogs oher than what they have done for theorself. Over the past 6-8 years based on what they have done I would with out a doubt say they are the best strain going. I plan to get me some in the very near future when Ruby comes in heat.

Echo dogs

I have been blessed over the years with some fine hounds of all breeds but about 7yrs ago I hunted with Troy and that's when I fell in love with the echo dogs at that time we were hunting echo III ,Pete , and bodacious and a pup I had bought from Troy echo IV (Ike). The thing that impressed me the most was these dogs ability on track they all seem to run wide open with their head up in the air while trailing coon we would go with other buddies that had different lines and you could easily see how fast they were literally running away from the other dogs on track. These dogs are not for every hunter they have such a desire to tree that if game isnot moving they are going to put you in strange territory so when you take them you better be ready to go huntin the dogs I have owned or hunted that I would call echo bred had good or great track speed , the ability to tree layups , and a great desire to compete. IMO I think this is why over the years these dogs have done there share of winning its that they have the grit and desire to win

Re: Double Springs Lil Annie

J williams, that is a beautiful female, with a great pedigree. I had a littermate brother to Annie. He was really turning the crank when he got ran over. Loads of track speed, and built like a brick house. We fought tick fever with him for over a year, he was getting ready to hit the hunts when he decided he wanted to try some speed beef.... loved the looks of this dog.

Another great looking echo hound, in my opinion as fine a looking hound as I have laid eyes on. This was a weekend hunt in the mountains S.E. of Mcalester, with Mr Austin Cox, and Mr John Carroll. Two fine gentlemen.

Hounds..

Those are two fine looking hounds Matt... Is that ol' Blue in the 2nd pic? It's been a few years, & most of the time I seen him it was dark!

Yes sir. I was sure fond of the ole boy. Always enjoyed hunting with him. He was 9 in that picture. I don't know of any other hounds that still looked that good at that age.
