Ok so 232 views and no replies. I know of Jackpot Jackie but was wondering what others made it to the final cast. Was she the only one?

Ukc, acha ?
Depends on which you are asking about also. Several fit the bill even one that won the whole thing in acha (most since the 80's were Fireball bred to include the overall winner) but that's the old big world hunt where as ukc is the newer big world hunt. Of course then there is the ukc world when it went by another hunt name that seen redbone winners there again. They have been in there for sure but if you're talking ukc world hunt using that name the list is pretty small.

That was called the Jim Dandy World Series of Coonhunting. My dad won it in 89 and second in 90 if I got the years right. I've heard all kinds of stories about the top dogs of each breed. He hunted with the original fireball dog in some hunt. Heard all about him. And one of the timber chopper dogs and other top dogs.

FIREBALL'S TIMBER CHOPPIN DAN it was like 2000 or so. He was double fireball coming from the top and bottom. Fireball III was the one that made the top 16 and of course old Fireball made the top 4 but that's all acha. Of course about the next thing to the world hunt in ukc is the Autumn Oaks. That's been won I mean the whole thing by Music a granddaughter of old Fireball off Rocky.

Thanks Everybody. When I asked this question I was thinking more red dogs have placed. Looking at it now, wow. We are a long way off from the other breeds. Now how can this be changed? Not trying to ruffle any feather.

Really though there's only been one plott dog 2 or 3 English dogs and all the rest who have won were walkers so were not to far off really considering the amount of walker dogs compare to redbones lol

No were not, as compared to the other breeds, but how do we as hunters and breeders of reds get that win?

That lame excuse about being outnumbered compared to other breeds comes up all the time. Numbers do not guarantee winners. How many professional black golfers are there....1 - Tiger Woods and we all know what he's accomplished as far as winning major events.

Redbones outnumber Plotts by yearly registration figures and attendance at major events yet the Plott breed has a World Champion and Plott dogs that have done well at several major events in the past few years.

The Redbone breed will never advance to the state of being a competitive breed unless people within the breed stop making excuses and stop being so kennel blind.

Mike, I totally agree with what you said. Coming over from walkers where if it was good, it really didnt matter the bloodline so much. I come over to the reds and most of the people are line blind. But blue tick people are the same way. And they haven't won anything either. In the walker circle, if it wins, breed it to see if it reproduces.

redbone

I had a plott directly out of the world champion and it wasn't worth having.there is dogs out there in the redbones that could make it to the world but its more the handlers fault than anything.everybody today is running a babbling walker or bluetick because their breed fits their game.what it takes is a skinny over rammy slick treeing babbling idiot and a lawyer as a handler to bend the rules his way to make it there jmo.

I don't see how everybody says a slick treeing idiot wins hunts. I kept a dog in the top 6 in Pkc state race and hardly ever won a cast with minus points. If people had slick treein idiots a redbone should have won the world already because they don't tree on just trees. At least that's what everybody says, and guess what, plus points beats minus points any day.

When are you guys going to open your eyes and breed better dogs instead of continually making excuses?

I'll let you in on a secret.....The Walker breed doesn't have a monopoly on slick treeing. There are slick treeing idiots in all coonhound breeds.

The last Redbone I hunted with 3 weeks ago is owned by a guy with the same opinion and beliefs about Walkers as you do. He wanted me to handle his dog in some comp hunts. In 2 hours his red female hit 3 slick trees in a row. She was hunted alone and none of the trees were even close to being a den tree. Her sire is on the top producers list for the breed. After he finished his humble pie I politely told him I'll pass on handling her.

Slick treeing babling idiots OF ANY BREED don't win World titles IN ANY REGISTRY.
