It's a shame all the way around the whole situation up there. Everybody is losing. There are probably more dogs killed than is even reported. We know groups that have been going up for years and now they are going to different places because they are scared of the wolves. We are not going to get our dogs killed for any running. Seems like the state of Michigan is going to be losing a lot of money if something isn't done about the wolf population.

It truly is sad, if humans kill wolves it is barbaric. But if they kill, livestock, humans, dogs etc it's either considered the circle of life or we are intruding in their country

My heart goes out to all the hunters that have lost hounds to these predators!

I'm right there with you jackson boys!! I would LOVE to go run up there in the wild but no one week of fun is worth taking the chance to me to lose a dog and in turn the state isn't getting a penny of my money. I wouldn't swim in shark infested waters so why in the heck would I turn my dogs loose in the "same" conditions. I feel sorry for the guys living up there dealing with those dog killers day in and day out!

Am I Reading This Right Hb154
A bill in Kentucky will bring their animal fighting law in line with the majority of other states. Currently in Kentucky, only the owner of a four legged animal used in a fight, owner of the property where the fight is held, and organizers of a fight may be charged with a Class-D felony. HB 154 would expand that to “any person who knowingly owns, possesses, keeps, breeds, trains, sells, or otherwise transfers a four-legged animal for the purpose of that animal or its offspring being used to fight for pleasure or profit is guilty of cruelty to animals in the first degree.” The law would be more inclusive as to who may be charged for participating in animal fighting. An amendment has also been put forth to remove the description “four-legged” so that chickens would be included as well.

ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN IT STAYES IT WOULD EXPAND ANY PERSON WHO OWNS ETC AN ANIMAL OR OFFSPRING USED FOR FIGHTING FOR PLEASURE.

I SEE NO WHERE IT SAYS FIGHTING DOG,IT SAYS ANYONE OWNING AN ANIMAL. MY DOG KILLING A COON IS FOR PLEASURE AND I AM GUILTY. WHY CAN UKC NOT SEE THIS? It is opening up a whole can of worms.
