noob advice for training new dogs

I have partnered with a friend to get 2 beagles for rabbit hunting. He picked the dogs from a breeder with a good reputation. We aren't worried about competition, just having decent dogs to hunt over with our boys. What is the best way to get them going? We have discussed building a starting pen but that seems like a lot of work for only two dogs. I am wondering if it would be cheaper and easier for send them to a trainer. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
Josh
Eta: dogs are about 6 months old and we are in mid west Ohio.

Starting dogs....

Call Chad Curran....Jeffersonville, Kentucky. He has a starting pen and will absolutely be a great investment for your hounds!!!

Used him many, many times... He is as quality as there are.

Knows hounds and treats them right and runs them right.

You can tell him Jim Hall referred you to him. He is a quality guy, glad to call him a friend.
