English Days is again in Oblong, IL, June 8, 9, 10.

They have a very nice fair grounds there. Hotels are great. The host club did an excellent job!

We will need bids for 2018 so if you have a club who would like to hold this event please contact me for the bid form and information. My email is judydeighton@howardhanna.com or- my phone is 814-683-5645.

I really liked the idea of having English days at this club again next year. The casts I was in were in plenty of coon so thank you to the guides they had selected. Nice fairgrounds with plenty of room. My complaint and a complaint I had heard from many was the plaques. Who's decision was this? I'm an adult but still appreciate a trophy as a long lasting momento. I've got piles of plaques. Just don't like them as much. I've got a young son getting in to coon hunting and several nephews that are teenagers and getting involved with competition hunts and from them ive learned that plaques instead of trophies is a very big deal. I don't mean to complain, I appreciate the time and effort put into this event. Everyone did do a great job putting this hunt on, but plaques?

Plaques

My understanding is the plaques were a decision made last English Days because of the rising expense of the trophies for this event.

Although the plaques are nice (and if you have one I will get a picture to you within a couple weeks) i have also heard many complaints. i will be bringing this up at the directors meeting at Autumn Oaks. We may have to shop around for another option.

Anyone who has a good trophy supplier please get hold of me with contact info.
