Pretty boy poacher

Do any of you guys know anything about the breeding with Pretty boy poacher and skinned poplar tt. Spoke with Chad about this outcross, he said he believes this is going to be an excellent outcross. Do any of you know anything about the skinned poplar bloodline. I am getting a pup out of this litter but cant find any info on the skinned poplar line. Any info would be great. I plan on competition hunting this plott, even though they seem to be the underdog out of all the walkers these days. Im in south ga and i need something with a lil grit. I must say Chad has a great wealth of knowledge on the subject of dogs and coons.

What do you uys think about this breeding

PRETTYBOY POACHER

Check out Kevin's post on the stud dog page, there is a link to his web-site that should answer many of your questions.

Pretty boy

I’m getting a pup out of the same litter as you. I haven’t personally hunted with any of the pretty boy pups but was referred to him by some other plott guys that have. Kevin has some of the ped for TT listed on his website and she has some good blood on both sides, but at the end of the day genetics are like shuffling 4 decks of cards and hoping for the best. I know chad said he’s gonna performance these pups and I believe if he’s willing to put the money in them then he believes they’re gonna turn out to be keepers. If you’re looking for grit, you’ve found the right breed for sure, not saying other breeds ain’t gritty but the brown dogs should please you in that category. I’m excited and looking forward to working with my pup and I’ll try to stay in touch with you to see how yours turns out too.

I hunt coon and bear but I’d say 70% of the time I’m after coon. I have a Eugene Walker bred Plott and he does well on coon but enjoys a bear chase more than anything. That’s why I got to looking for a second plott to run solely on coon and let my other one do what he really loves, more often. Speaking of the walker brothers, TT goes back to some of Curtis’ dogs.

TT's sire is NtCh Skinned Poplar Chic. Chic is out of NtCh Ramsey's Brindle Bark and a heavy Curtis Walker bred female. TT's dam is out of top bear and coondogs that go back to GrNt Lester's Tug River John, Lester's Tug River Jake, Sarge 2, Lester's Jenny(Sizzling Heat), and many more of Randy Lesters' old stock of dogs.

There’s a lot of great folks involved with the plott breed, and most are friendly and willing to talk history with ya about anytime. The walker brothers and the Moses boys all fall into that category. I hope some of this information helps, and I’m looking forward to seeing how your pup turns out!

Hey man did you get your pup, and which one did u get. Mine has been a little ball of fire so far, constanly on the go, exploring being independent and always trying to bite something. Nose on the ground.

Sorry I didn’t see your post till this evening. I picked the only female out of the litter. I have been very impressed so far. Very healthy pup and very smart. It was a 5 hour drive for me she rode fine all the way back no fussing no mess, my fiancé is keeping her inside and she still has yet to mess indoors. She lets you know every time she needs to go outside and I’m pretty tickled with that. She was playing with the big dogs the other day (2 cattle dogs) when they spotted a possum and took off after it and the little girl was doin her best to keep up and boy was she was talking. I’ve got high hopes for this pup and can’t wait to see how she turns out.
