What is the purpose of english sectional hunts ? Do you have to qualify a dog for english days ?

they have a special one night hunt that only the english who were high scoring male or female at a sectional can enter .i think when they gave me the nice plaque a couple years at boone iowa chip told me it was held on a thursday night .
