Allen please clarify. On back of scorecard 3b points will be plus

b) When dog is declared struck and treed and coon is seen other than in tree,
dog declared treed to receive strike and tree points.*** Dogs not declared treed,
strike points only.***

"other than in tree" could be a hole in the ground, a woodpile, junk pile, under a building, etc.

In those scenarios, you would score the strike and tree points accordingly for that dog(s) who was declared treed. For dog(s) who was not declared treed, score their strike points only accordingly.

Accordingly, would be plus, minus, or circle.

Yes. And even if no dog has been declared treed, you can plus the strike points of those dogs in a hole.

It only says "plus" because you're under the "plus" section of the running rules. You'd need to go to the minus or circle section for rules that apply to those specific options. You might not see any mention of holes, or dogs not declared treed in those sections but minus or circle still applies. You can't award plus points when no coon is seen but you still have to score the dog(s), one way or another.
