Old Coon Hunter and Old Tales

I, call an old friend of mine, he's 82, about every 2 or 3 days, years ago he always had a real good coon dog, and they were always black&tan. He use to hunt in some of the big hunts, and one year at Autumn Oaks, he drew out with, James Merchant and Dave Dean. He was hunting a little crossed up black dog, he called him Preacher, he later sold the dog to Dal Johnson, and a couple of weeks later, the little dog got killed in a conibear trap, which was a real shame. But getting back to the hunt, old preacher came out on top, and at the end of the hunt, Dave Dean put his arm around Carl, and said little man if you was closer, i'd have some of that blood , in my blueticks. Now i don't know if it was true or not but i can't help thinking, boy i would have loved to have been there, and hunted with those guys.
