New kind of dog

No intention of starting an argument but I am seeing a lot of dogs advertised as barking from the time you turn them loose till they tree and I understand how this scores points. I was raised and taught to hate a loose mouthed dog. For me a dog better not open his mouth until he smells a coon. Times change but I hope we don't get these dogs bred up to where they are all bark from the cut. Just not my style.

Let’s just roll dice back at the club house.

Have your cast drawn out like normal but instead of going to the woods just roll 6-5-4. And then take the winners and redraw again until there is a winner of all entered. Because turning 4 dogs loose and not running the same track and treeing on the same tree sure doesn’t tell who’s the better dog.

But that won’t happen and Dave Dean told me he bred for the scorecard so that means you want a different style dog with different traits you first have to change the rules

Locally

Here in my part of central Ohio pleasure hunters are few and far between. If not for competition hunters coon hunting would be on the endangered list for sure nearing extinct! Coon hunting is not different from anything else $ controls the market. Sad but I feel true. We need to get kids involved or we may live to see coon hunting disappear. Take the time to invest in the future. Take a kid along and show them the sport we all love….. Perry

I CAN TELL IF A DOG IS BABBLING OR HAS A TRACK OR JUST BARKING AS SOON AS CUT LOOSE

A lot of dogs are taught from a young age to hunt like that some can be broke from it there’s still plenty of nice lines of dogs out there that is a last or honest strike that can still win if u do a little research

There are some that are just natural barkers but MANY are man made.
